The 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup was the 8th edition of the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup, the biennial international women's baseball world championship tournament. The competition was held in Viera, Florida in the United States from August 22 to August 31, 2018. The 2018 tournament was the first time that the United States hosted the event. [1]
In September 2017, the Baseball Federation of Asia held the first Women’s Baseball Asian Cup, a biennial tournament to be held in odd years and serve as a qualifying tournament for the Women’s Baseball World Cup. Six teams competed in the 2017 tournament, from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Pakistan, and South Korea. [2] Japan won all five of their games to win the tournament and qualify for the World Cup. Chinese Taipei (2nd place), South Korea (3rd place), and Hong Kong (4th place) also qualified. [3]
For 2016, the number of qualifying teams grew from eight for its 6th edition in 2014 to twelve teams. [4]

The Chinese Taipei national baseball team is the national men's baseball team of Taiwan. It is governed by the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association. The team is ranked fourth in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. The team is usually made up of professionals from Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League, Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball, and Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball from the United States.
The Pakistan national baseball team is the national team representing Pakistan in international baseball tournaments and competitions. The team is controlled and governed by the Pakistan Federation Baseball, which is represented in the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA), having been ranked #5 in Asia, just behind China. They are ranked as the top and one of the most successful baseball teams in South Asia, winning the first SAARC Baseball Championship 8–2 against Sri Lanka in 2011. As of 2023, Pakistan is currently ranked 38th in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
The WBSC Premier12 is the international baseball tournament organized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), featuring the 12 highest-ranked national baseball teams in the world. The first tournament was held by Taiwan and Japan in November 2015. The second tournament, 2019 WBSC Premier12, was held in November 2019, and served as a qualifier for two teams for baseball at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The 2019 WBSC Premier12 was an international baseball championship featuring the 12 highest-ranked national teams in the world, held by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). It was the second WBSC Premier12 event. The championship was held from November 2 to 17, 2019, in Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
Six national teams qualified to compete in baseball at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. As host, Japan automatically qualified. Israel also qualified, by winning the Africa/Europe Qualifying Event in September 2019.

The United States team won the 2018 Women's Softball World Championship to qualify for the Olympics. The tournament followed a single round robin format. The top four teams qualifies for the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup in the United States.
The 2019 Women's Baseball Asian Cup is the second edition of the Women's Baseball Asian Cup. It was held at the 3,000-capacity Panda Memorial Stadium in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China from 9 to 15 November 2017. This is the first tournament which adopts a super round with the eight participating teams divided into two groups in the opening round. Host China, and the Philippines made their debut in competitive baseball in the tournament.

The 30th Asian Baseball Championship was an international professional baseball competition for Asian men's national teams. It was held in Taiwan. It began on 3 December 2023 and ended on 10 December 2023. Japan won the championship, its 20th title.
