The men's 1000 meter at the 2019 KNSB Dutch Single Distance Championships took place in Heerenveen at the Thialf ice skating rink on Sunday 30 December 2018. There were 24 participants.
Gianni Petrus Cornelis Romme is a Dutch marathoner and a former long track speed skater. He won two gold medals at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and was the World all-round champion in 2000 and 2003. Romme has been a coach since the 2006–07 speed skating season.
Carl Eduard Verheijen is a retired Dutch speed skater who specialized in the longer distances 5,000 m and the 10,000 m. Verheijen is the son of international speed skaters Rieneke Demming and Eddy Verheijen. He is in a relationship with retired skater Andrea Nuyt in Leusden. They have a daughter. Carl's brother Frank Verheijen is a marathon skater.
Ireen Wüst is a Dutch long track allround speed skater.
Stefan Groothuis is a retired Dutch speed skater. He is the World Sprint Champion for 2012 and the gold medal winner in the 1000 metres at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Carien Kleibeuker is a Dutch speed skater who is specialised in the long distances, 3000 and mainly 5000 metres. She is the current holder of the Dutch record on the 5000 and 10000 metres distances, as well as the current holder of the unofficial world one-hour record, with 40,569.56 metres skated.
Paulien van Deutekom was a Dutch champion speed skater who specialised in the middle to long distances, over 1000 and 1500 metres.
Marrit Leenstra is a Dutch former long track speed skater.
Ted-Jan Bloemen is a Dutch-Canadian long track speed skater who, prior to the 2014–15 season, competed for the Netherlands in international competitions. Bloemen primarily competes in the long-distance events as well as the team pursuit event. He is the current world record holder for the 5,000 m (6:01.86), set in Salt Lake City, and the Olympic record holder for the 10,000 m (12:39.77), set winning gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Bloemen also won a silver medal in the 5,000 m at the Pyeongchang Olympics, the first Canadian male to medal in the distance since 1932. He has won a silver in 10,000 m and one bronze and silver in the team pursuit at the World Speed Skating Championships.
