KNSB Dutch Single Distance Championships

The Dutch Single Distance Championships of speed skating, organised by the KNSB, is the official Dutch championship to determine the Dutch champion over a single distance, in contrast to the KNSB Dutch Allround Championships, which determine the Dutch allround champion. The single distance championships date back to 1987, and is often used as qualification races for World Cup and Olympic races. The skaters compete for medals in the five Olympic distances: 500, 1000, 1500, 3000 (women only), 5000 and 10,000 (men only) metres.

The 2007 KNSB Dutch Allround Championships in speed skating were held in the Thialf stadium in Heerenveen, Netherlands, on 23 and 24 December 2006. Although the event took place in December 2006 this was the 2007 edition as it is part of the 2006–07 speed skating season.

The 2008 KNSB Dutch Allround Championships in speed skating were held at the Kardinge ice stadium in Groningen, Netherlands on 27 and 28 December 2007. Although the event took place in December 2007 this was the 2008 edition as it is part of the 2007-08 speed skating season.

The Dutch Allround Championships of speed skating, organised by the KNSB, is the official Dutch championship to determine the Dutch Allround champion, in contrast to the KNSB Dutch Single Distance Championships, which determines a Dutch champion for each distance. Thecla Maria Catharina "Thea" Limbach is a retired speed skater from the Netherlands. She competed at the 1984 Winter Olympics in the 500, 1000, 1500 and 3000 m and finished in 27th, 21st, 9th and 13th place, respectively. She finished third in the KNSB Dutch Allround Championships in 1982, 1984 and 1985; in 1983 she was third in the KNSB Dutch Sprint Championships.
