The NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship is an annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate water polo. Beginning in 1969, it has been held every year except 2020, when it was postponed to March 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With a limited number of NCAA water polo programs at the national level, all men's teams, whether from Division I, Division II, or Division III, are eligible to compete each year in the National Collegiate tournament. The tournament was expanded from a four-team bracket in 2013 by adding two play-in games that are contested by the bottom four seeds, effectively creating a six-team bracket with a first-round bye for the top two teams. This makes it the sport with the fewest teams reaching the NCAA tournament; this is because there are only 43 men's water polo teams between all three NCAA divisions.

Lorenzo Romar is an American basketball coach and former player. He is the head men's basketball coach at Pepperdine University, a position he held from 1996 to 1999 and resumed in 2018. Romar also served as the head men's basketball coach at Saint Louis University from 1999 to 2002 and the University of Washington from 2002 to 2017.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wāhine are the athletic teams that represent the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UH), in Honolulu, Hawaii. The UH athletics program is a member of the Big West Conference in most sports and competes at the NCAA Division I level. It comprises seven men's, 12 women's, and two coed athletic teams.
The Johns Hopkins–Princeton lacrosse rivalry is an intercollegiate lacrosse rivalry between the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays and Princeton Tigers. The teams first met in 1890 but would not meet again until 1930, after which, it became an annual staple on the schedule. Part of the enmity in the rivalry stems from the two school's similarities in high-level academics and lacrosse prominence, along with competing for a similar body of applicants. Through much of the latter half of the 20th century, Hopkins would dominate the rivalry. The series would resume national importance in the 1990s with the return of Princeton to the game's elite; since 1990, the Tigers have won six national championships and the Jays have claimed two. With the 90th meeting occurring in 2020, Johns Hopkins leads the series 59–31.
The 2020–21 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's basketball team represented Coastal Carolina University in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Chanticleers, led by 14th-year head coach Cliff Ellis, played their home games at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina as members of the Sun Belt Conference. With the creation of divisions to cut down on travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they played in the East Division. they finished the season 18–8, 9–5 in Sun Belt play to finish in second place in the East Division. They defeated Troy in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt tournament before losing to Appalachian State in the semifinals. They received a bid to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Bryant and Stetson to advance to the CBI championship game. There they lost to Pepperdine.
The 2021 NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Tournament was the 51st edition of the NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Championship, an annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I and Division II men's collegiate indoor volleyball. The single-elimination tournament began with a play-in match. The entire tournament was hosted by Ohio State University from May 3 to 8, 2021 at Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio. Hawaii won its first title by defeating BYU 3–0.
The 2021–22 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers men's basketball team represents Coastal Carolina University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Chanticleers, led by 15th-year head coach Cliff Ellis, play their home games at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 19-14, 8-8 in Sun Belt Play to finish in 7th place. They lost in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament to Georgia Southern. They received an invitation to the new The Basketball Classic where they defeated Maryland Eastern Shore, Florida Gulf Coast, and South Alabama to advance to the championship game where they lost to Fresno State.

The 2021–22 Bellarmine Knights men's basketball team represented Bellarmine University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Knights, led by 17th-year head coach Scott Davenport, played their home games at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky as members West division of the ASUN Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 11–5 in ASUN play to finish in second place in the West division. They defeated Florida Gulf Coast, Liberty, and Jacksonville to win the ASUN tournament championship. Because the Knights were in the second year of a four-year transition period from Division II to Division I, they were not eligible for NCAA postseason play. As a result, the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament went to regular season champion Jacksonville State.

Hawai'i defeated Long Beach State for their second consecutive national championship 3–0.
The 2022 UCLA men's volleyball team represented University of California, Los Angeles in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Bruins, led by tenth year head coach John Speraw, played their home games at Pauley Pavilion when basketball did not conflict with the home game schedule and at John Wooden Center when basketball conflicted with the home game schedule. The Bruins were members of the MPSF and were picked to finish second in the MPSF preseason poll. UCLA hosted the MPSF tournament and also the 2022 NCAA Championship at Pauley Pavilion. The 2022 NCAA Championship began on May 1 with an opening round match.
The 2023 Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors volleyball team represents the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UH) in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Rainbow Warriors, led by 14th-year head coach Charlie Wade, play home games at Stan Sheriff Center on the UH campus in the Honolulu neighborhood of Mānoa. The Rainbow Warriors, members of the Big West Conference, were picked by Big West coaches to win the conference in its preseason poll with Long Beach State. The Rainbow Warriors enter the season as the two-time defending national champions after defeating Long Beach State in the 2022 national championship game. The national championship was Hawai'i's second men's volleyball national championship after they had to vacate the 2002 national championship.
The 2023 George Mason Patriots men's volleyball team represents George Mason University in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Patriots, led by seventh year head coach Jay Hosack, play their home games at Recreation Athletic Complex. The Patriots are members of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and were picked to finish sixth in the EIVA preseason poll.
