The 2020 AFC Women's Futsal Championship was to be the third edition of the AFC Women's Futsal Championship, the biennial international futsal championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the women's national teams of Asia. Kuwait was confirmed by the AFC as tournament hosts on 18 March 2020. [1] The tournament was originally scheduled between 2–12 July 2020, [2] [3] but had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [4] Kuwait had expressed an interest to host the tournament in September 2021. [5]

A total of 16 teams were expected to take part in the tournament. [6] Iran are the defending champions, having won both previous editions.

Squads

Each team had to submit a squad of 14 players, including a minimum of two goalkeepers. [6]

The futsal competition at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 18 October. At Tecnópolis and the CeNARD, the first one located in Villa Martelli, and the second one in Buenos Aires. There are two tournaments, one for boys and one for girls.

The 2019 AFC U-19 Women's Championship was the 10th edition of the AFC U-19 Women's Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the women's under-19 national teams of Asia. The tournament was held in Thailand between 27 October and 9 November 2019, with a total of eight teams competing.
