The 2020 NAB AFL Women's Rising Star award was presented to the player adjudged the best young player during the 2020 AFL Women's season. [1] Isabel Huntington of the Western Bulldogs won the award with 33 votes. [2]

Eligibility

Every round, two nominations will be given to standout young players who performed well during that particular round. To be eligible for nomination, players must have been under 21 years of age on 1 January 2020, not have been suspended during the season and never previously been nominated. [1]

Georgia Patrikios is an Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Patrikios received a nomination for the 2020 AFL Women's Rising Star award in round 1 of the 2020 season, her debut match, and went on to be named the AFL Players Association (AFLPA) AFLW best first-year player that year. She won the inaugural two St Kilda best and fairest awards and was selected in the 2021 AFL Women's All-Australian team.

Gabrielle "Gabby" Newton is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Fremantle, after previously playing for Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was the Rising Star nominee in round 4 of 2020. Newton was named in the team's best 4 times in the 6 games she played in the 2020 AFL Women's season, with her collecting career high amounts of disposals in rounds 4 and 6. She received 1 best and fairest vote for her performance in round 4 of the 2020 season. It was revealed that Newton had signed a contract extension with the club on 16 June 2021, after playing every game possible for the club that season.

The 2021 NAB AFL Women's Rising Star award was presented to the player adjudged the best young player during the 2021 AFL Women's season. Tyla Hanks of the Melbourne Football Club won the award with 48 votes.
