The 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held on the 25th and 26th days of June, 2021 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra to recognize the works of artists in the year under review. It was broadcast by TV3 locally in Ghana and Akwaaba Magic outside Ghana, both accessible outside Ghana via DStv and GOtv. [1] [2]

Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Tema. He started rapping at a young age and has since become a household name in the Ghanaian and Global music industry. His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) for "Artiste of the Decade". He was announced the first winner of BET's Best International Flow Artist at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. He is also considered one of the major proponents of the Azonto genre and dance and as the most successful African rapper of all time. Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, who is better known by her stage name Efya, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and actress from Kumasi. She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad. Efya rose to fame after participating in the first edition of Stars of the Future. She won Best Female Vocal Performance at the Ghana Music Awards in four succession, beginning in 2011. Moreover, she was applauded for her performance at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, better known by her stage name MzVee, is a Ghanaian singer, afropop, dancehall and R&B artiste. Her debut solo album features several hit singles including 'Borkor Borkor, 'Natural Girl' and 'Dancehall Queen'. MzVee was signed to the record label Lynx Entertainment and was the winner of the New Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards. She parted ways with Lynx Entertainment in the year 2019. She is currently a solo artist.

Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle, recognised by his stage name Joe Mettle, is a Ghanaian gospel musician and songwriter. On April 8, 2017, he made history by being the first Ghanaian Gospel musician to win the coveted Artist of the year award at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards. He has won many awards in Ghana and beyond, and has performed on international stages with International Gospel Artistes like Donnie McClurkin, Nathaniel Bassey, Ntokozo Mbambo, Michael Stuckey and many more. He is married to Selassie Mettle.

The 2016 Ghana Music Awards was the 17th edition of the Ghana Music Awards which was held on May 7, 2016, at the Accra International Conference Center in Accra, Ghana and was hosted by Chris Attoh, DJ Black and Naa Ashorkor. E.L was the biggest winner at the event, taking home a total of five awards including the coveted 'Artiste of the Year' with Sarkodie and Bisa Kdei won four awards each. These musicians, alongside Stonebwoy, Efya, R2Bees, Wizkid, Joe Mettle and Adomaa, performed at the event.

Ronald Banful, known professionally as GuiltyBeatz, is a Ghanaian DJ and record producer. Born in Palermo, Italy, GuiltyBeatz first gained prominence as a music producer after his production on "Bad girl" by Jesse Jagz ft. Wizkid, "Sample You" by Mr. Eazi and his hit "Akwaaba" featuring Mr. Eazi, Pappy Kojo & Patapaa.

The 24th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held on the 6th May, 2023 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in the Grand Arena. The awards is to recognize the works of artiste in the year under review. The awards show was organized by Charter House and broadcast by TV3 as a locally partner in Ghana and international media outlets Akwaaba Magic.

The 25th edition of the Ghana Music Awards, sponsored for the first time by Telecel Ghana, was held on the 1st and 2nd days of June, 2024 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra to recognize the works of artists in the year under review. It was broadcast by TV3 locally in Ghana and Akwaaba Magic outside Ghana, both accessible outside Ghana via DStv and GOtv.
