The 2021 Women's Hockey Africa Cup of Nations will be the eighth edition of the Women's Hockey Africa Cup of Nations, the quadrennial international women's field hockey championship of Africa organised by the African Hockey Federation. The venue and exact dates are yet to be confirmed.

South Africa are the seven-time defending champions, winning the 2017 edition. [1] The winner will qualify for the 2022 Women's FIH Hockey World Cup. [2]

Qualification

The top two highest-ranked teams in the FIH World Rankings qualify directly for the tournament while the other teams have to play in the regional qualifiers. The top two teams from each of the regional qualifiers qualify for the tournament. The three regions are North-East Africa, North-West Africa, and Central-South Africa. [3] [4]

As hosts Japan also won the Asian Games title, a seventh quota place was added to the Olympic qualification event.

2019 Womens African Olympic Qualifier

The 2019 Women's African Olympic Qualifier was the fourth edition of the African qualification tournament for the women's field hockey event at the Summer Olympics. It was held alongside the men's tournament in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 12 to 18 August 2019.

The 2021 Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup will be the eighth edition of the Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup. The tournament was scheduled to be held in Kakamigahara, Japan from 6 to 12 April 2020. In March 2020 it was announced that the tournament would be postponed due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic. On 27 October 2020 it was announced the tournament would be held from 11 to 17 April 2021.
