The 2022 Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships took place in Amman, Jordan from 2 to 14 March 2022. [1]

Contents

Boxers (Men and Women) who were born in 2004 and in 2005 are eligible to participate for these championships. Also, younger boxers born in 2006 and 2007 could compete in the junior part of the championships in Jordan. [2]

Shiva Thapa is the third Indian boxer to win a medal at the AIBA World Boxing Championships. He is now an Account Manager with Midland Credit management. Thapa has been elected as a member of the International Boxing Association (amateur) Athletes Committee.

Nikhat Zareen Indian boxer (born 1996)

Nikhat Zareen is an Indian boxer. She won gold medal at the 2011 AIBA Women's Youth & Junior World Boxing Championships held in Antalya. Zareen won gold medal at the 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, and became the fifth Indian woman to win a gold medal at the IBA World Boxing Championships. Zareen works as general banking officer at Bank of India since June 2021. She won gold medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Sarjubala Devi is an Indian woman boxer from Manipur and represented India at the 2016 Rio Olympics. After being awarded as the Best Boxer at Youth World Women Boxing Championship organised at Turkey, the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) announced support for Sarjubala Devi in 2012. She is referred to as the next Mary Kom. She used to be part of the 48 kg category but recently changed it to 51 kg category. After the change she claimed a Gold Medal at the National Women's Boxing Championship 2018. She also won the Best Boxer award at the 7th Youth Women National Championship in Patiala and in the 14th Senior Women Boxing Competition.

Lü Bin is a Chinese professional boxer who challenged for the WBA light-flyweight title in 2018. As an amateur he won a bronze medal at 2013 Asian Amateur Championships in the light-flyweight division and represented China at the 2016 Summer Olympics, reaching the round of 16.

Selay Soy is an Indian boxer from Jharkhand player of Indian Boxing Federation. He won a medal in the 2017 Asian Junior Amateur Boxing Championships.

The Jordan Handball Federation is the governing body of handball and beach handball in The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Founded in 1961, the Jordan Handball Federation is affiliated to the International Handball Federation and Asian Handball Federation. She was beaten in the quarterfinals by Kariss Artingstall from Great Britain.

Simranjit Kaur Baatth is an Indian amateur boxer from Punjab, India. She has represented India internationally since 2011. Kaur won a bronze medal for India at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. She was a part of the Indian women's boxing contingent and won a gold medal at the Ahmet Comert International Boxing Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey in the 64 kg category. Baatth is the first female boxer from Punjab to participate in the Olympics. Simranjit won silver at the 2019 Asian Championships and bronze at the 2018 World Championships. She won gold medal at the Cologne Boxing World Cup in Germany.

Sachin Siwach is an Indian boxer from Bhiwani. He became the third Indian to win gold at the World Youth championship.

Thailand competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He won a silver medal at the 2019 Asian Championships and a gold medal at 2019 Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament held in Bangkok. He also won bronze medal at 2020 Asia/Oceania Olympics Qualifier and represented India in middleweight category at 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.

Odai Al-Hindawi Jordanian boxer

Odai Al-Hindawi is a Jordanian amateur boxer. He competed at the 2019 World Championships and later qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, both at light heavyweight. He also won a middleweight silver medal at the 2014 Asian Games.

Paulo Aokuso is an Australian boxer. He competed in the men's light heavyweight event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In the Round of 16 in the light heavyweight bracket Aokuso lost narrowly on points to Spain’s Gazimagomed Jalidov.
