The 2022 Europe Top 16 Cup (also referred to as the 2022 CCB Europe Top 16 Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a table tennis competition to be held on 26th and 27th February 2022 in Montreux, Switzerland, organised under the authority of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU). [1] [2]

Timo Boll is a German professional table tennis player, who currently plays for Borussia Düsseldorf. He is ranked second in the German Table Tennis National League, and tenth in the ITTF world rankings as of July 2021. Boll ranks among the best German table tennis players of all time, having ranked world No. 1 in 2003, 2011 and in March 2018.
Vladimir Samsonov or Uładzimir Samsonaŭ is a Belarusian former professional table tennis player. He is known in China as the "Tai Chi Master" because of his superb all-around style, both offensive and defensive. Samsonov competed at six consecutive Olympics between 1996 and 2016, placing fourth individually in 2016, in addition to equal fifth in 1996 and 2000.
European Champions League (ECL) is the seasonal table tennis competition for the highest ranked European club teams and is regarded as the most important international club competition in Europe. Fenerbahçe Table Tennis is the men's and women's table tennis department of Fenerbahçe S.K., a major Turkish multi-sport club based in Istanbul, Turkey. The table tennis section of Fenerbahçe, which was founded in 1928, is the most successful in Turkey and one of the best in Europe, with the men's team having won the Turkish Super League 4 times and the Turkish Cup 11 times, among others. Patrick Baum is a male table tennis player from Germany. He won the singles title at the 2005 World Junior Table Tennis Championships. Since 2008, he has won several medals in singles and team events in the World Table Tennis Championships, in the Table Tennis World Cup, and in the Table Tennis European Championships. In 2013, he defeated Dimitrij Ovtcharov in the round of 16 in the 2013 World Table Tennis Championships but was defeated by eventual champion Zhang Jike in the quarterfinals 4-1.
