The 2022 Jordanian First Division League started on 7 August 2022 [1] [2] and concluded on 8 November 2022. [3] [4]
The league featured 10 teams from the 2021 campaign, two new teams relegated from the 2021 Pro League: Al-Jalil and Al-Baqa'a, and two new teams promoted from the 2021 Jordanian Second Division League: Alia and Al-Hashimiya.
Al-Ahli SC won the league title and promoted to 2023–24 Jordanian Pro League along with Al-Jalil. [5] Al-Karmel and Balama were relegated to the 2023 Jordanian Second Division League. [6]
A total of 14 teams are contesting the league, including 10 sides from the 2021 season, two relegated from the 2021 Pro League, and two promoted from the 2021 Jordanian Second Division League. [7] [8]

The Iraqi Premier Division League is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 22 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). It will be governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association from the 2024–25 season. Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League, while the third-placed team enters a promotion play-off. The four lowest-finishing teams are relegated to First Division League.

The league featured 10 teams who played each other twice in its first season however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Arab Emirates, the UAE footballing season was cancelled and declared a void and all results were null. The UAE FA set a strategy to support featuring more privately owned clubs and football academies in the UAE Football Pyramid. Ahead of the 2022–23 season, the UAE FA confirmed that the format of league will remain as 12 teams, with the introduction of the UAE Third Division League with a promotion-relegation system.
