Qualified for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship |
The 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. The event was held in France from 11 to 29 January 2017.
The 2019 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 26th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Denmark and Germany from 10 to 27 January 2019. It was the first IHF World Men's Handball Championship to include more than one host country. It was also the first time a unified Korean team participated.
The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021.
The 2023 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 28th such event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It was held in Poland and Sweden from 11 to 29 January 2023.
The 2016 Pan American Men's Handball Championship was the 17th official competition for senior men's national handball teams of North, Center, Caribbean and South America. It was held from 11 to 19 June 2016 at the Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship in France, securing three vacancies for the World Championship.

Women's Handball Championship was the fourth edition of the championship, held from 22 to 27 August 2021 at Elgin, United States under the aegis of North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation. It was the first time in history that the championship is organised by the USA Team Handball. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top team from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be held in Spain. The tournament was held behind closed doors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It acted as the African qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship in Poland and Sweden. Originally it was scheduled to be held in Morocco from 13 to 23 January 2022.

It was the second time in history that the championship was organised by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation (SAHF). It also acted as a qualification tournament for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship, with the top five teams from the championship directly qualifying for the event.

It was the first time in history that the championship was organised by the Greenland Handball Federation and it also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top team from the championship directly qualifying for the event.
The men's handball tournament at the 2023 Pan American Games was the 10th edition of the handball event for men at the Pan American Games. It was held from 30 October to 4 November 2023. All games were played at the Gimnasio Polideportivo in Viña del Mar, Chile.
The 2025 World Men's Handball Championship qualification decided who qualified for the 2025 World Men's Handball Championship in Croatia, Denmark and Norway. Qualifying occurred between February 2023 and June 2024. The championship will feature 32 teams for the third time.
The 2024 Nor.Ca. Men's Handball Championship was the fourth edition of the tournament and takes place in Mexico City, Mexico from 6 to 12 May 2024. The winning team, Cuba, qualified for the 2025 World Men's Handball Championship.
