A leadership election for the Tricolour Citizens' Movement was held on 29 January 2022.
Tricolour was founded by MP Václav Klaus Jr. in 2019. Klaus became first leader of the party. [2] Klaus resigned on the position in March 2021 and was replaced by Zuzana Majerová Zahradníková. [3] Tricolour formed electoral alliance with Svobodní and Freeholder Party of the Czech Republic for 2021 Czech legislative election. The alliance received 2.76% of votes and failed to win any seats. Majerová admitted that the result is a disappointment. [4]
Anthropologist Ivo Budil announced his candidacy on 18 November 2021 stating that he wants to renew original ethos of Tricolour as a national conservative patriotic party. [5] Jindřich Rajchl announced on 28 December 2021 that he will run for the position of leader stating election result showed that Zahradníková can't get trust of voters. Rajchl stated that he gained support of some regional organisations. [6] Zahradníková herself already confirmed intention to remain the leader of Tricolour. [7] [8] Robert Troška announced candidacy in January 2022. [9]
Voting was held on 29 January 2022. Over 200 delegates were allowed to vote. Rajchl withdrawn from election and Majerová Zahradníková defeated Budil and Troška. [10] [11] Zahradníková received 127 votes. [12]
Petr Mach is a Czech economist and former Member of the European Parliament. He is the founder of the Party of Free Citizens which he led until 2017 when he was replaced by Tomáš Pajonk.

Jaroslav Bašta is a Czech politician and diplomat. He is a signatory of Charter 77. Between 1998 and 2000 he served in the cabinet of Miloš Zeman as Minister without portfolio. Bašta became the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Russia in September 2000. He served for five years in Russia, later becoming Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, where he worked for three years until stepping down due to health reasons in 2010.

Parliamentary elections were held in the Czech Republic on 8 and 9 October 2021. All 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies were elected, with the leader of the resulting government to become the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. Following the 2017 parliamentary elections, the country had been ruled by a minority government consisting of ANO 2011 (ANO), led by prime minister Andrej Babiš, and the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD), led by interior minister Jan Hamáček, with confidence and supply support from the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) until April 2021. The largest opposition party was the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), followed by the Czech Pirate Party. Other parties in the Chamber of Deputies included SPD, TOP 09, STAN, and KDU-ČSL.
Václav Klaus Jr. is a Czech teacher and politician. He was a member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) until his expulsion in March 2019. Klaus was a Member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) from 2017 to 2021.
In Czech politics, Klausism refers to the political positions of Václav Klaus, former prime minister and president of the Czech Republic. It was first used by Mirek Topolánek, who designated Klausism as the ideology of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). This term was also used by former Prague mayor Jan Kasl. Klaus himself does not take issue with the term. The current usage of the term "Klausism" has become distanced from Klaus himself, leading to the phrase "Klausism without Klaus." The term 'Klausism' is also frequently used as a label for the neologisms invented by Klaus.

A leadership election for the Mayors and Independents (STAN) in 2021 was held on 31 August 2021. The incumbent leader Vít Rakušan was the only candidate and received 96% of votes.
The 2022 Prague municipal election was held in September 2022 as part of the nationwide municipal elections to elect members of the Prague City Assembly. It was a victory for Spolu which received the highest number of votes and seats ahead of ANO 2011 in second place. The Czech Pirate Party led by incumbent Mayor Zdeněk Hřib finished third. New coalition was formed 5 months after election and it consists of Spolu, Pirates and STAN. Bohuslav Svoboda became the new mayor.
