The 2023 Asia Rugby Women's Championship Div 1 was to be the sixth edition of the Asia Rugby Women's Championship Div 1 tournament. The competition was expected to be held in India and was expected to run from the 15th to the 23rd of December, 2023. [1] [2] The Philippines and Singapore were expected to feature in the tournament together with hosts, India. [1]

The Asian Rugby Championship replaced the Asian Five Nations tournament. The main tournament is now participated by the top three teams in Asia, less teams competing at the 2014 Asian Five Nations, which saw the top five teams in Asia participate. In this edition, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea participated at the main tournament.

The 2022 Asia Rugby Championship was the sixth tri-nations series of rugby union matches for the top-level Asia Rugby nations. Due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the series was cancelled in both 2020  and 2021.

The 2019 Asia Rugby Women's Championship Div 1 was held from 19—22 June in Calamba, Philippines. China won the Division 1 Championship after beating the Philippines in the Final. India also created history when they defeated Singapore to record their first test match victory.

The 2018 Asia Rugby Women’s Championship Div 1 was hosted by Singapore at the Queenstown Stadium, from 2 June to 8 June. India made their international debut in the opening match against Singapore. Although active in rugby sevens, India did not have a fifteens team; fifteens was only initiated at the end of 2016. Singapore defeated the Philippines to win the Division 1 title.

WXV is a women's international rugby union competition that will be held annually, launched in 2023.The competition consists of three tiers, respectively named WXV 1, WXV 2, and WXV 3. Each tier consists of six teams divided into two pools and is run in a split pool format, where teams only face teams from the other pool.
