The 2023 TSL season was the 131st season of the Tasmanian State League (TSL), the highest-level senior Australian rules football competition in Tasmania. The season began on 7 April and concluded on 21 September, comprising an 18-match home-and-away season over 21 rounds, followed by a three-week finals series. [1]
Kingborough won the TSL premiership for the first time, defeating North Launceston by 15 points in the 2023 TSL Grand Final. [2] [3]
During the pre-season, reports emerged that Glenorchy was suffering a shortage of players and was "unlikely" to field a senior team in 2023. [4] The club had failed to win a single game during the 2022 season, with just 12 players attending one training session held around January 2023. [5] [6]
Ultimately, the club was able to field senior and reserves sides in 2023, although it failed to win a senior game for the second season in a row. [7] [8]

Football Tasmania (FT) is the governing body for soccer in the Australian state of Tasmania. The federation oversees competitions across Tasmania, Tasmanian representative teams, and development of the sport in the state. The federation was known as the Tasmanian Soccer Association until 1996, when it was renamed to Soccer Tasmania. In line with national changes in March 2006, it became Football Federation Tasmania. In February 2019, the organisation became simply Football Tasmania.
The Tasmanian State League (TSL), colloquially known as the Tasmanian Football League (TFL), was the highest-level Australian rules football competition in the state of Tasmania. It disbanded following the end of the 2024 season in preparation for the Tasmania Football Club to enter the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2026.

Kingborough Tigers Football Club is an Australian rules football club, based at Kingston, Tasmania that formerly competed in the Southern Football League in Tasmania before progressing to representation in the statewide Tasmanian State Football League (TSL) in 2014.
The North Launceston Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is an Australian rules football club based in the Tasmanian city of Launceston. The club will compete in the Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) in 2025.
Lauderdale Oval or Lauderdale Sports Ground is a suburban Australian rules football and cricket ground situated in the beach-side Hobart suburb of Lauderdale, Tasmania, Australia. It is home of the Lauderdale Football Club in the Tasmanian State League and has been used by the Lauderdale Football Club since 1948 in both amateur and country football. In 1998, Lauderdale Oval underwent upgrades for increased lighting, enabling the ground to be used for night football in the Southern Football League.
