The 2023 All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship final will be the 51st All-Ireland Final and the deciding match of the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship, an inter-county ladies' Gaelic football tournament for the county teams of Ireland. The National Football League is an annual Gaelic football competition between the senior county teams of Ireland plus London. Sponsored by Allianz, it is officially known as the Allianz National Football League.
The Leitrim County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) or Leitrim GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Leitrim. The county board is also responsible for the Leitrim inter-county teams. The county football team play in the Connacht Senior Football Championship and compete in Division 4 of the National Football League. Considered "Connacht's traditional minnows" and "one of the GAA's Cinderella counties", Leitrim are never seriously seen as likely to win a major title. They have won the Connacht Senior Football Championship on two occasions, the first in 1927 and their second in 1994.
Ladies' Gaelic football is an Irish team sport for women. It is the women's equivalent of Gaelic football. Ladies' football is organised by the Ladies' Gaelic Football Association. Two teams of 15 players kick or hand-pass a round ball towards goals at each end of a grass pitch. The sport is mainly played in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, where the two main competitions are the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship and the Ladies' National Football League. Both competitions feature teams representing the traditional Gaelic games counties. The 2017 All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship final was the best attended women's sports final of 2017. The 2019 final, after the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Final, was the second largest attendance at any women's sporting final during 2019. Historically Cork and Kerry have been the sport's most successful counties. Waterford, Monaghan and Mayo have also experienced spells of success. In more recent years, 2017 to 2020, Dublin have been the dominant team.
Grangenolvin G.F.C. is a Gaelic football (GFC) club based in southern County Kildare, Ireland. The clubs Senior Mens Team competes in the Kildare Senior Football League Division 3 and Kildare Junior Football Championship. Grangenolvin are a former AIB club of the year winner in 1985. Mick Carolan was chosen on the Kildare football team of the millennium and was a Cuchulainn All Stars Award winner in 1966. In 2023, the club re-established its LGFA Senior Womens Team.
The Ladies' Gaelic Football Association is the main governing body for ladies' Gaelic football. It organises competitions such as the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship and the Ladies' National Football League.
Clíodhna O'Connor is a former senior Dublin ladies' footballer. She was a member of the Dublin team that won the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship in 2010. She also played for Dublin in the 2003, 2004, 2009 and 2014 finals. She captained Dublin during the 2011 season. In 2004 and 2009 she was selected as an All Star and in 2010 she was included in the LGFA/TG4 Team of the Decade. She also played for the Ireland women's international rules football team. Since retiring as a player, O'Connor has coached Ladies' Gaelic football and hurling. She was a member of the coaching team at Cuala when they won the 2017 and 2018 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship Finals. In 2019 she became a member of the Dublin senior hurling team coaching staff.
The Dublin Ladies' Senior Football Championship is the senior Ladies' Gaelic football competition featuring clubs affiliated to the Dublin GAA. Ballyboden St. Enda's are the competitions most successful club, having won 10 titles. Between 2000 and 2008 they completed a nine-in-a-row. They won their tenth title in 2010. In more recent seasons, the most successful club has been Foxrock–Cabinteely. Between 2015 and 2021 they completed a seven-in-a-row. The winners of the Dublin Senior Ladies' Football Championship are awarded the Michael Murphy Perpetual Cup. They also qualify to play in the Leinster Ladies' Senior Club Football Championship and if they win that, they qualify for the All-Ireland Ladies' Club Football Championship.
The Cork county ladies' football team represents Cork GAA in ladies' Gaelic football. The team competes in inter-county competitions such as the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship, the Munster Senior Ladies' Football Championship and the Ladies' National Football League.
Packy McGarty was a Gaelic football player from Mohill, County Leitrim. He played for the Leitrim county team for 23 years between 1949 and 1971, playing his first senior game at the age of 16.

Michael Moyles is a former Gaelic footballer who played for Crossmolina and the Mayo county team. He also managed the Mayo ladies' football team from 2021 to 2023 where they won their first silverware since 2016.

Foxrock–Cabinteely GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Foxrock, Cabinteely, Johnstown and Cornelscourt areas of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown. The club was founded in 2005, following the merger of Foxrock Girls Gaelic Club and Cabinteely GAA. The club specialises in ladies' Gaelic football. During the 2010s Foxrock–Cabinteely have won both the Dublin Ladies' Senior Football Championship and the Leinster Ladies' Senior Club Football Championship. They have also played in All-Ireland Ladies' Club Football Championship finals.
The 2018 Leitrim Senior Football Championship was the 112th edition of Leitrim GAA's premier gaelic football tournament for senior clubs in County Leitrim, Ireland. The tournament consists of 12 teams, with the winner going on to represent Leitrim in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage.

The 2021 Ladies' National Football League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Lidl Ladies' National Football League, is a ladies' Gaelic football competition taking place in summer 2021. Division placings were the same as for the 2020 competition, which was unfinished due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
