The 2024 BSN finals (also known, for promotional reasons, as La Final Brava or The Brava Finals) was the championship series that decided the 2024 Baloncesto Superior Nacional champions in Puerto Rico. The best-of-seven playoffs pitted the one time (2006) champions Criollos from Caguas, versus the Osos from Manati, who were trying for their first title.

Contents

The series started on August 17 and finished on August 30, with the Criollos securing their second championship. [1] Travis Trice of the Criollos was named the Finals' Most Valuable Player. [2]

In Game Two, Manati was leading by three points, when Travis Trice of the Criollos threw a half-court shot with one second left and made it, to tie the game and send it to over-time. The Criollos eventually won this game, 109–104. [5]

Grises de Humacao were a basketball team based in Humacao, Puerto Rico, which competed in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the top professional league in Puerto Rico, until the relocation of the team following the 2023 season. Andrés Guillermo Rodríguez Fernández is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player, who last played for Atenienses de Manatí of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. He was born in Puerto Rico, where he debuted as a professional basketball played for the Criollos de Caguas in 1999. Rodríguez attended University of Louisville and American University, completing his college education in 2004. Afterwards, he migrated to Europe, where he first played for Olimpija Ljubljana and had his best season by leading the Liga ACB in assists per game in 2013 with Obradoiro CAB. While concurrently playing in Puerto Rico, Rodríguez won three BSN championships for two different teams. Internationally, he is a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team.

Ángel Daniel Vassallo Colón is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He has been a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team since his teenage years, representing Puerto Rico in the 2003 FIBA World Championship for Junior Men and the 2005 FIBA U-21 World Championship. In 2008, Vassallo joined the senior team, playing at the 2008 Centrobasket, FIBA Americas Championship 2009 and 2010 FIBA World Championship.

The 2011 Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino is the 43rd official season of Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino. The 2011 season was dedicated to Ángel Rivero. In early May, the President of the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation announced that the Champion from the 2011 LVSF tournament will be the NORCECA representative at the 2011 FIVB Women's Club World Championship.

James Raymond Carter Gaudino is a retired Puerto Rican basketball player. Carter spent most of his career as a point guard for the Brujos de Guayama of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). Carter is currently the all-time assists leader of the league. During his 20-year career, he also played for the Indios de Mayagüez, Criollos de Caguas, Maratonistas de Coamo, and Capitanes de Arecibo. Carter also played since 1992 to the year 2000 for the Explosivos de Moca of the Liga de Baloncesto Puertorriqueña.

Marcelo Trujillo Panisse was a Puerto Rican politician, who was elected to four terms as mayor of Humacao, Puerto Rico. Trujillo was affiliated with the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) and served as mayor from 2001 to 2019. He earned a bachelor's degree in political and social sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War era.

Travis Lamar Trice II is an American professional basketball player for the Beijing Royal Fighters of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Michigan State Spartans, leading his team in points during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. He attended Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio, where he played under his father, Travis Trice Sr.

Kleon Penn is a British Virgin Islander-Puerto Rican professional basketball player for the Osos de Manatí of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He is currently the league’s all-time leader in blocks. He played college basketball for H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and McNeese State.

The Osos de Manatí are a professional basketball team based in Manatí, Puerto Rico. They play in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the top division basketball league in Puerto Rico. Prior to 2017, the team was named Atenienses de Manatí. In October 2022 they returned from a hiatus, when Puerto Rican singer Ozuna purchased the Brujos de Guayama, and relocated the team to Manatí. The team reached its first ever BSN finals in 2024, but lost in seven games to the Criollos de Caguas.

The 2024 Baloncesto Superior Nacional season is the 95th season of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). The Gigantes de Carolina comes into the season as the defending champions, winning the 2023 BSN Finals. The regular season began on April 3, and ended on July 1. The tie-breaker and play-in game was held on July 10–12, 2024. The 2024 BSN playoffs then began on July 13.

Oscar Ramón “Moncho” Loubriel Flores is a Puerto Rican sports team supporter, property/hidration manager and mascot of Vaqueros de Bayamón and Puerto Rico men's national basketball team.
