The 2024 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup consists of two sections:
3x3 basketball is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. Its primary competition is an annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour, comprising a series of Masters and one Final tournament, and awarding six-figure prize money in US dollars. The FIBA 3x3 World Cups for men and women are the highest tournaments for national 3x3 teams. The 3x3 format has been adopted for both the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The Serbian men's national 3x3 team represents Serbia in international 3x3 basketball matches and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia.
The Australia women's national 3x3 team is a national basketball team of Australia, governed by Basketball Australia.
The FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup is a 3x3 youth international tournament sanctioned by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since 2018 for basketball players up to 23 years old. The first edition will be held in Xi'an, China in 2018. FIBA decided to launch the tournament after the hosting of the first edition of the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League in 2017 which was deemed a success by the international basketball body.
