On 5 March 2020, Bhararisain, a town in the Gairsain Tehsil of the Chamoli district, was declared as the summer capital of Uttarakhand. The High Court of the state is located in Nainital, but is to be moved to Haldwani in future.
Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board, near Dehradun city in the Dehradun district of the Indian state Uttarakhand. Auli is in Chamoli district in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand, India. Auli, also known as Auli Bugyal, in Garhwali, which means "meadow", is located at an elevation of 2,800 metres (9,200 ft) above sea level. Between June and October, the valley has one of highest numbers of flower species found anywhere in the world, with 520 species of high-altitude plants, 498 of which are flowering plants with significant populations of endangered species.

Dehradun Airport, also known as Jolly Grant Airport, is a domestic airport serving Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, India. It is located in Jauligrant, 25 km (16 mi) south of the city, 20 km (12 mi) from Rishikesh and 35 km (22 mi) from Haridwar. Commercial operations began on 30 March 2008, after the runway was extended to accommodate larger aircraft. A new terminal building was inaugurated in February 2009. The current passenger terminal was inaugurated in October 2021. The airport is the 30th busiest airport in India, with over 1.5 million annual passengers.

The 2011 South Asian Winter Games, officially the 1st South Asian Winter Games, were held in Dehradun and Auli, in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, India in January 2011. The games were conducted by the Indian Olympic Association and the Winter Games Federation of India. A grand opening and closing ceremony took place on 10 January 2011 and 16 January 2011, in Dehradun and Auli, respectively.
SelaQui International School is a coeducational, residential school located in the village of SelaQui in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Founded by Naveen Agarwal in 1998, the University Grants Commission conferred autonomous status to DIT in 2012 and subsequently it was declared DIT University by Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly vide Act No. 10 of 2013. Jot Singh Gunsola is an Indian politician from Uttarakhand and a two term Member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Gunsola represents the Mussoorie. He twice served as the Chairman of Mussoorie Municipal Council. Gunsola is a member of the Indian National Congress.
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Uttarakhand on 14 February 2022 to elect 70 members of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results were declared on 10 March 2022.
