The 2024 U Sports Men's Soccer Championship was the 52nd edition of the U Sports men's soccer championship, a postseason tournament to determine the national champion of the 2024 U Sports men's soccer season. The tournament started on November 7 and ended with the bronze-medal and championship games being played on November 10 at Ontario Tech University.

Host

The tournament was held at Vaso's Field, on the grounds of Ontario Tech University. This was the first-ever U Sports national championship event hosted by Ontario Tech. [1]

The matches were streamed live on CBC Gem, CBCSports.ca, CBC YouTube, and Radio-Canada. [2] All matches were streamed on CBC Gem. [3]

Qualified teams

The championship consists of an eight-team single-elimination tournament. Four teams automatically qualify for the tournament as one of the winners of the four conferences, three qualify as the runners-ups, and one qualify as the host.

Seeding

The conference champions were allocated seeds 1 through 4, with the additional teams (conference runners-up or host team) allocated seeds 5 through 8. Ideally, seed 1 plays seed 8, seed 2 plays seed 7, seed 3 plays seed 6, and seed 4 plays seed 5, however, the bracket may be adjusted in the interest of avoiding an intra-conference matchup in the first round. In 2016, 27 university teams were scheduled to play Canadian Interuniversity Sport football, the highest level of amateur Canadian football.

The 2018 U Sports Men's University Cup Hockey Tournament was held March 15–18, 2018, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and played at the Aitken Centre on the University of New Brunswick's Fredericton campus. This event marked the second year of a successful two-year bid to host the 2017 and 2018 U Sports University Cup. This was the third time UNB hosted the University Cup – they first hosted a two-year bid in 2003 & 2004 and again in 2011 & 2012. UNB is the first program to host the event three times since the expanded format was introduced in 1998.

The 2019 U Sports football season began on August 23, 2019, with the Concordia Stingers hosting the Montreal Carabins in Montreal, Quebec. The Atlantic University Sport conference started play the following day and the Ontario University Athletics conference began play on August 25, 2019. The Canada West teams began play during the following weekend, on August 30, 2019. All 27 U Sports football teams played eight regular season games against opponents within the same conference.

The 2020 ACC men's soccer tournament was the 34th edition of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament decided the Atlantic Coast Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2020 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. The final will be played at Sahlen's Stadium in Cary, North Carolina.

The 2011 CIS Women's Volleyball Championship was held March 4, 2011 to March 6, 2011, in Quebec City, Quebec, to determine a national champion for the 2010–11 CIS women's volleyball season. The tournament was played at PEPS at Université Laval. It was the sixth time that Laval had hosted the tournament and the first time since hosting back-to-back tournaments in 2002 and 2003.

The 2021 U Sports football season began on August 28, 2021, with the Sherbrooke Vert et Or hosting the Montreal Carabins in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The Atlantic University Sport conference began play on September 17, 2021, and ten Ontario University Athletics teams opened their seasons on September 18, 2021. The Canada West conference began their regular season last with all six teams playing on September 25, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, all conferences except the RSEQ played six regular season games while the RSEQ played eight.

The 2022 U Sports football season began on August 27, 2022, with four Atlantic University Sport teams, four RSEQ teams, and ten Ontario University Athletics teams opening their schedules that day. The six Canada West teams began their schedules one week later with two games on September 2 and one on September 3.

The 2023 Canadian Championship was the sixteenth edition of the Canadian Championship, the premier men's domestic cup competition in Canadian soccer, and the 22nd competition staged to determine the winner of the Voyageurs Cup. It was a knockout tournament with all eleven professional men's soccer teams in Canada, from Major League Soccer and the Canadian Premier League, competing, along with the champions of the three semi-professional League1 Canada competitions. The tournament marked the first Voyageurs Cup campaign for FC Laval, TSS FC Rovers and Vancouver FC.
