During the off-season, coach Patrice Gheisar signed a two-year contract extension. The season was noteworthy for a difficult beginning, where the team set a league record for worst start to a season, and was eliminated from the Canadian Championship in the first round by losing to the Ligue 1 Québec club CS Saint-Laurent. The Wanderers also set a league record for most red cards in a season, with eight.
