Background

The incident took place in the Mallital area of Nainital. The victim, a 12-year-old Class 7 student, was reportedly approached by the accused, a 73-year-old contractor, who allegedly offered ₹200 and a ride home from a local market. [5] [6] The alleged assault occurred in the accused's vehicle. The victim reported the incident to her family on April 30, 2025. A medical examination of the victim was conducted on May 1, 2025, as part of the investigation. [7]
