256 (City of London and South East) Multi-Role Medical Regiment is a unit of the Royal Army Medical Service within the Army Reserve of the British Army. [2]
The hospital was formed in 1995, through the amalgamation of 217 (London) General Hospital, 257 (Southern) General Hospital, and 221 (Surrey) Field Ambulance, as 256 (London) Field Hospital. [3] Later renamed ‘City of London’. As a result of Army 2020, the unit became under the command of 2nd Medical Brigade, and was paired with 33 Field Hospital. [4]
Under the Future Soldier programme, the hospital was renamed as the 256 (City of London and South East) Multi-Role Medical Regiment in 2023. The regiment will remain under 2nd Medical Group. [5]

The University Officers' Training Corps (UOTC), also known as the Officers' Training Corps (OTC), are British Army training units, under the command of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which recruit from universities. Their role is to allow university students the opportunity to undertake modules of Reserve Officer training designed to fit around their degree and to develop the leadership abilities, skills and experience of their members, which could be useful in a future career in the British Army, or skills and training that can be utilised in a civilian career. While in the UOTC, Officer Cadets will undertake the Reserve Officer Training Modules.
101 (Northumbrian) Medium Regiment Royal Artillery is part of the Army Reserve and has sub units throughout the north east as well as one sub unit in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is equipped with M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS).

The 7th Battalion, The Rifles is an Army Reserve battalion of the British Army originally formed from elements of the Royal Rifle Volunteers, and Royal Green Jacket badged Sub-Units of The London Regiment following the Future Army Structure programme, and remains an integral part of the regiment.
Future Soldier is a reform of the British Army resulting from the Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy published in March 2021. The aim of the reform is to create a more lethal, agile and expeditionary force, able to fight and win wars and to operate in the grey-zone between peace and war. Future Soldier was published on 25 November 2021 and deals with the organizational changes of the British Army, with changes to personnel and equipment were set out in the Defence in a Competitive Age paper published on 22 March 2021.
