The 37th Tengen began on 7 July 2010. The winner of the challenger tournament will face title holder Yuki Satoshi in a best-of-five finals. [1]

Tengen (天元) was a Japanese era after Jōgen and before Eikan. This period spanned the years from November 978 through April 983. The reigning emperor was En'yū-tennō (円融天皇).

Eikan (永観) was a Japanese era name after Tengen and before Kanna. This period spanned the years from April 983 through April 985. The reigning emperors were En'yū-tennō (円融天皇) and Kazan-tennō (花山天皇).

Yuta Iyama Kisei, Honinbo, Meijin, Gosei is a Japanese professional Go player. In April 2016, he became the first player in Japanese history to hold all seven major titles simultaneously. In January 2018, Iyama became the first professional Go player to be awarded Japan's People's Honour Award.

The Chunwon is a Go competition in Korea.

The China–Korea Tengen is a Go competition. it pits the holders of the Tianyuan competition in China, versus the Hanguk Kiwon's Chunwon winner. Both these qualifying competitions are equivalent to the Nihon Ki-in's Tengen in Japan.

The 1st Kisei was the birth of a new Go tournament. Since this was the first year of the tournament, there was no set challenger or holder. From the 2nd edition on, there has been a playoff between challengers. At the time, it was the highest paying tournament there had ever been, and would be until the creation of the Ing Cup. Fujisawa Hideyuki's win would mark the beginning of a six-year defense of the Kisei title from 1977 to 1982.

<i>Gurren Lagann</i> 2007 Japanese mecha anime television series directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi

Gurren Lagann, known in Japan as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, is a Japanese mecha anime television series animated by Gainax and co-produced by Aniplex and Konami. It ran for 27 episodes on Japan's TV Tokyo between April 1, 2007, and September 30, 2007. It was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, written by veteran playwright Kazuki Nakashima, and had been in development since the participation of the famed animator in the Abenobashi mecha-themed episodes by the same studio. Gurren Lagann takes place in a fictional future where Earth is ruled by the Spiral King, Lordgenome, who forces mankind to live in isolated subterranean villages. The plot focuses on two teenagers, Simon and Kamina, who live in a subterranean village and wish to go to the surface. Using a mecha known as Lagann, Simon and Kamina reach the surface and start fighting alongside other humans against Lordgenome's forces, before fighting the forces of their true enemy.

The 15th Chunwon began on 15 June 2010 and concluded on 27 January 2011. Defending champion Park Junghwan progressed past the first round, but his title defense was halted after losing to Yun Junsang in the second round. Choi Cheol-han was the eventual winner, winning the Chunwon for the third time in his career.

The 25th Tianyuan began on 2 February and concluded on 13 April. Defending champion Chen Yaoye kept his title, defeating challenger Zhou Hexi in two games.

The 1st Igo Masters Cup began on 24 February 2011 and is still ongoing. Eleven players participated: Kobayashi Koichi, Kudo Norio, Rin Kaiho, Kataoka Satoshi, Hane Yasumasa, Ishida Yoshio, Takemiya Masaki, Cho Chikun, O Rissei, Kobayashi Satoru, Otake Hideo.

Zhou Hexi is a Chinese professional Go player.
