Vijay TV presented the fourth consecutive edition of Univercell Vijay Awards powered by Rin this time even grand than its last three years; an event to recognize the excellence of professionals in the Tamil film industry, for movies released in the year 2009. The year 2009 saw 131 films released. Winners from 32 various categories like Best Film, Best Actor Male/Female, Best Supporting Actor Male/Female, Best Comedian, Best Villain, Best Playback Singer Male/Female, Best Debut Actor Male/Female, Best Choreographer, Best Film Editor, Best Lyricist, Best Art Director, Best Dress Designer, Best Dialogue Writer are few of the awards that would be selected by the Jury members.

He is best known for his roles in action thriller films such as Salim (2014) and Pichaikkaran (2016).

Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Tamil

The Tamil Filmfare Best Female Playback Award is given by Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Tamil films. The first Tamil award was given in 2006. However, since 1997 till 2005, a common award for playback was available for both Male and Female singers of all the four South Indian languages.

The Tamil Filmfare Best Lyricist Award is given by the Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Tamil films.

The Vijay Awards are presented by the Tamil television channel STAR Vijay to honour excellence in Tamil cinema. It has been given annually since 2006, with the latest—the 10th edition—of the award-giving ceremony having been held in May 2018. The awards are decided by a jury, consisting of noted film-makers, critics and technicians, while winners in a separate category named "Favourite awards" are chosen by public voting. The awards have been sponsored by Reliance Mobile, Univercell and Close Up. Owing to controversies about indulging personal wishes and a decrease in public interest, it was cancelled for two years.

The Vanitha Film Awards are presented annually by Vanitha, an Indian magazine from the Malayala Manorama group in the south Indian state of Kerala. The 5th Vijay Awards ceremony honoring the winners and nominees of the best of Tamil film industry in 2010 was held on 25 June 2011 in Chennai.

Dinesh Kumar is an Indian choreographer working with South Indian films, including Tamil films. He won the 2011 National Film Award for Best Choreography for his work in Aadukalam (Tamil)

Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards is the annual film festival conducted in Oslo to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Tamil film industry. NTFF was arranged for the first time in 2010 by VN Music Dreams. NTFF is a celebration of global Tamil cinema.

Malaysia Kalai Ulagam Award or acronym known as MUK Award is the Malaysian online award ceremony to pay tribute and award the key industry player within Malaysian Indian community who have been working hard to keep the local entertainment industry of Malaysia alive. This award were presented by online entertainment show, Malaysia Kalai Ulagam. The 2016 awards were held on 25 February.
