The 54th Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment in the Imperial Japanese Army. The regiment was attached to the 17th Infantry Brigade of the 17th Division and participated during the Second Sino-Japanese War as part of the Central China Expeditionary Army, before being assigned to the Thirteenth Army. [1] The regiment fought in the later stages of World War II, assigned to the Japanese Eighth Area Army at Bougainville Island in the Solomon Islands.

The 503rd Infantry Regiment, formerly the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment, is an airborne infantry regiment of the United States Army. The regiment served as an independent regiment in the Pacific War during World War II; at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; in Okinawa, Japan; and in Germany. 24th Infantry Regiment (United States)
