The 5th Group Communication and Information Systems was a military communications unit in the Land Component of the Belgian Armed Forces. Following the Transformation Plan of the Belgian Army and the establishment of the Medium Brigade, the 5th Group CIS was disbanded in 2011.
The 5th Panzer Division was an armoured division of the German Army during World War II, established in 1938.

He has also had success in stage races, winning the overall classification of the 2019 Deutschland Tour as well as a stage of the 2015 Vuelta a España. The World Group was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 1994. The first-round losers went into the Davis Cup World Group qualifying round, and the winners progressed to the quarterfinals and were guaranteed a World Group spot for 1995.
