The PSA Group, legally known as Peugeot S.A. was a French multinational automotive manufacturing company which produced automobiles and motorcycles under the Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands. On 18 December 2019, PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced that they had agreed to the terms of a binding $50 billion merger. The second-generation model was unveiled in May 2016, with the vehicle being available as of January 2017. The name '3008' is derived from the combination of '308' and '5008'. As of its first generation, the Peugeot 3008 was developed with the Peugeot 5008, and as of February 2019, the 3008 was developed together with the Citroën C5 Aircross, DS 7 Crossback and the Opel Grandland, sharing platforms and much technology.
