The 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade was the unit under which the United States Army Air Defense Artillery School is organized. The ADA School has been redesignated to the 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. The official motto of the 6h ADA is I Aim With a Sure Blow (Latin : Certo Dirigo Ictu). [1] The brigade was based at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
The 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade was designated and assigned to Training and Doctrine Command in 1987. Since then, it has provided institutional training for all air defense soldiers and officers. The 6th Air Defense Brigade cased its colors on 18 May 2012 and has been re-flagged as the 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. It still has the same subordinate units and mission.
Fort Bliss is a United States Army post in New Mexico and Texas, with its headquarters in El Paso, Texas. Named in honor of LTC William Bliss (1815–1853), a mathematics professor who was the son-in-law of President Zachary Taylor, Ft. Bliss has an area of about 1,700 square miles (4,400 km2); it is the largest installation in FORSCOM and second-largest in the Army overall. The portion of the post located in El Paso County, Texas, is a census-designated place with a population of 8,591 as of the time of the 2010 census. Fort Bliss provides the largest contiguous tract of restricted airspace in the Continental United States, used for missile and artillery training and testing, and at 992,000 acres boasts the largest maneuver area. The garrison's land area is accounted at 1.12 million acres, ranging to the boundaries of the Lincoln National Forest and White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Fort Bliss also includes the Castner Range National Monument.

The Air Defense Artillery Branch is the air defense branch of the United States Army, specializing in the use of anti-aircraft weapons to conduct anti-aircraft warfare operations. In the U.S. Army, these groups are composed of mainly air defense systems such as the Patriot Missile System, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), and the Avenger Air Defense system which fires the FIM-92 Stinger missile.
The United States Army Regimental System (USARS) is an organizational and classification system used by the United States Army. It was established in 1981 to replace the Combat Arms Regimental System (CARS) to provide each soldier with continuous identification with a single regiment, and to increase a soldier's probability of serving recurring assignments with their regiment. Lieutenant General Michael David Maples, USA served as the 16th Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), appointed on November 4, 2005. He was promoted to lieutenant general on November 29. Maples also commanded the Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JFCC-ISR) for the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). He transferred his Directorship of the Defense Intelligence Agency and his command of JFCC-ISR to LTG Ronald Burgess on March 18, 2009. Maples formally served as the vice director of management of the Joint Staff.
The Air Defense Artillery School is the professional school of the Air Defense Artillery Branch of the US Army. It is at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The school was organized as the 6th ADA Brigade until 18 May 2012, when it was redesignated as the 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. The decision to redesignate the 6th ADA to 30th ADA was made after Col. Bill Stacey, the then-6th ADA commander, discovered that the 6th ADA had no official ADA colors.
The 402nd Field Artillery Brigade has been absorbed into the 5th Armored Brigade. The 402nd was an AC/RC/NG unit based at Fort Bliss, Texas. The unit is responsible for training selected United States Army Reserve & Army National Guard units along the West coast. The unit was formerly designated as 3rd Brigade, 91st Infantry Division, and as the 402nd Brigade (Training). The Brigade is a subordinate unit of the First United States Army. From 1985 to 1996, the Brigade conducted artillery training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

The 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command is an air defense artillery command of the United States Army, South Carolina Army National Guard.
