The Majeerteen, alternately known as MohammedHarti, are a prominent Somali sub-clan of the Harti, which falls under the Darod conglomerate of clans. Traditionally, they inhabit extensive territories in the Bari, Nugaal, and Mudug regions of Somalia, spanning from Bosaso to Garacad, mainly in Puntland state. The Harti, (Somali: Harti), are a Somali clan that trace their lineage back to SalehAbdi (Harti). They are a sub-clan of the larger Darod clan. Notable sub-clans within Harti include the Majeerteen, Dhulbahante, and the Warsengeli. They predominantly reside in the apex of the Horn of Africa and its surrounding regions. Furthermore, in the southern territories, the clan's settlements span both sides of the Kenya-Somalia border.

Elman Sports Club is a Somali football club based in the Wadajir district of Mogadishu. Being the best known football team in Somalia, it competes in the top level of the Somali National League, Locally, it is known primarily by the nickname "The Yellows", which describes the color the team wear's. It is known as the best team in Somalia, being the most successful football club in the country, holding a national record of 15 official football trophies of which are, Six Somali National League's, three General Daoud Cups, Five Somali Super Cups and One Somali Stars League.

Osman Mahmoud is a Somali sub-clan and is one of the largest sub-clans within the larger Majeerteen Harti branch of the Darod clan. The sub-clan is most renowned for its rich history within Somalia, that of which include sultanates such as the Majeerteen Sultanate and Hobyo Sultanate.

The Baho Nugaaleed the leader baho nugaaleed Khair Abdi [Qayaad], is a division of Somali clan that is part of the Dhulbahante clan-family. The primary homeland of these clans include the regions of Sool and Sanaag And Dmco Doollo DDS in SSC KHAATUMO, the Lower Juba region in Somalia and the Dollo Zone in Ethiopia. The Bah Nugaaleed are composed of three major sub-groups Qayaad Majors in accordance with their locality in the SSCD regions. These groups are Khair Abdi [Qayaad] the Hayaag Yaxye ugaasyo the Reer Aymeed and Reer Nugaaleed _Reer hawud [KhAIR ABDI]Qayaad).

Hassan Dahir Afqurac is a Somali politician who was the Vice President of Puntland from January 2005 to January 2009. later died due to Liver disease in Nairobi.

The Omar Mahamoud is a Somali sub-clan, part of the Mohamoud Saleeban, itself a sub-clan of the Majeerteen sub-clan of the Harti conglomeration of Darod clans. The Omar Mohamoud is one of the largest Majeerteen sub-clans. The Omar Mohamoud clan primarily inhabit the Mudug and southern Nugaal regions of Puntland in northern Somalia. a large number of the clan settle in Doollo region of Ogadenia, as well as in the port city of Kismayo and the Lower Juba region of southern Somalia.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2005 Puntland presidential election</span>

The 2005 Puntland presidential election was held on 8 January 2005 in Garowe, the administrative capital of the autonomous Puntland state of Somalia. The first such vote to be held in the state since its establishment 1998, it followed the election of a new Parliament Speaker and Deputy Speakers on January 04, 2005 by the 66-seat unicameral legislature. Candidates included officials from the incumbent Puntland administration, former government ministers and prominent local entrepreneurs. The ballot saw the election of Military leader General Adde Muse as the third president of Puntland, narrowly defeating Mohamed Abdi Hashi. Parliament of Puntland concurrently elected Hassan Dahir Afqurac as Puntland's new vice president in place of Mohamed Ali Yusuf.
