98th Composite Brigade, also known as "Jamuna Brigade", is the first composite brigade formation of the Bangladesh Army. [1]
On June 23, 1998, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Bangabandhu Bridge over the Jamuna River in Tangail District and established the 98 Composite Brigade. [2]
On January 29, 2015, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Bangabandhu Cantonment near the Bangabandhu Bridge and opened the newly built headquarters of the 98 Composite Brigade Office Building, Mess Complex, family residences for the officers, JCOs and soldiers. [3]
The 98 Composite Brigade is composed of a Riverine Engineers Battalion, an Air Defence Artillery Unit and an Infantry Battalion. Soldiers and officers of the brigade were drawn from other units of the army.
The Bangladesh Armed Forces are the military forces of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Bangabandhu Bridge, also known as the Jamuna Multi-purpose Bridge is a bridge opened in Bangladesh in June 1998. It connects Bhuapur on the Jamuna River's east bank to Sirajganj on its west bank. It was the 11th longest bridge in the world when constructed in 1998 and at present is the 6th longest bridge in South Asia. The Jamuna River, which it spans, is one of the three major rivers of Bangladesh, and is fifth largest in the world in discharge volume.
Tangail is a city of Tangail District in central Bangladesh. A significant city in Bangladesh, Tangail lies on the bank of the Louhajang River, 83 kilometres (52 mi) northwest of Dhaka, the nation's capital. It is the 25th most populous city in Bangladesh.

Abdur Rahman Biswas was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the President of Bangladesh from 1991 to 1996. Biswas represented Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly prior to the independence of Bangladesh.
Abu Saleh Mohammad NasimBir Bikrom is a former Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army. In 1996, he attempted a military coup of the caretaker government which was preparing for general elections. After failure of the coup in 1996, he was arrested, placed under house arrest, and subsequently dismissed from service. That year, the Awami League was elected to power in the government. It reverted Nasim's dismissal from the military and later provided him with an honorable discharge.
The Padma Multipurpose Bridge, commonly known as the Padma Bridge, is a two-level road-rail bridge across the Padma River, the main distributary of the Ganges in Bangladesh. It connects Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj and Zazira Upazila of Shariatpur and a small part of Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur, linking the less developed southwest of the country to the northern and eastern regions. The bridge was inaugurated in the morning of 25 June 2022 by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Narayanganj–Bahadurabad Ghat line is a railway line connecting Narayanganj and Bahadurabad Ghat in Bangladesh. There are branch lines to Jagannathganj Ghat and Netrakona-Mohanganj. This track is under the jurisdiction of Bangladesh Railway
Forces goal 2030 is a military modernization program which began in 2009 and was revised in 2017. It was designed to enhance the capabilities of three service branches of Bangladesh Armed Forces: the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. The primary focus of the modernization program is the reformation of the military organization, expansion of the forces, the transformation of the indigenous defense sector to support research and manufacturing, and acquisition of modern military weapons. The requirement for modernization was realized in the aftermath of 2008 Bangladesh–Myanmar naval standoff later resulting in Bangladesh's favour. One of the primary objectives of the modernization program is to develop a three-dimensional force capable of conducting multi-platform warfare.

The 1996 Bangladesh coup d'état attempt was a coup attempt in Bangladesh. The coup was launched by Army Chief of Staff Abu Saleh Mohammad Nasim against the President of Bangladesh Abdur Rahman Biswas. The coup failed and the Army chief of Staff was dismissed.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel, also known as Karnaphuli Tunnel, is an underwater expressway tunnel in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh under the Karnaphuli river. The length of the entire route is 9.39 kilometres (5.83 mi), with the tunnel making up 3.32 kilometres (2.06 mi) of the length. The tunnel diameter is 10.80 metres (35.4 ft). It is expected, over 17,000 vehicles will be able to use this tunnel daily. The cost of the project is estimated at US$1.1B, of which around half is financed by the Exim Bank of China. The Bangabandhu Tunnel is the first underwater road tunnel in South Asia. It is expected to improve the Dhaka–Chittagong–Cox's Bazar highway network. A Chinese company, China Communications Construction Company, was selected to construct it. The tunnel segments were produced in Zhenjiang, China.
Jamuna Cantonment is a Bangladeshi military cantonment near Bangabandhu Bridge in Bhuapur Upazila, Tangail District, Bangladesh. The cantonment has been named in line with the name of Bangabandhu Bridge. It has been established to ensure overall security of the bridge as it is the main link of the highway connectivity between North Bengal and eastern regions of Bangladesh.
Sheikh Russel Cantonment is a Bangladeshi military cantonment near Padma Bridge in Munshiganj and Shariatpur Districts, Bangladesh. The cantonment has been named after Sheikh Russel, younger brother of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed. It has been established to ensure overall security of the bridge as it will be the main link of the highway connectivity between South Bengal and other parts of Bangladesh.
Sheikh Lutfur Rahman was a Bangladeshi serestadar, an officer responsible for record-keeping at the Gopalganj civil court in British India. His son Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first president of Bangladesh. Lutfar was also the paternal grandfather of Sheikh Hasina.
Sheikh Hasina Cantonment is the headquarter of 7th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army. It is located in Lebukhali, Barishal. The area of the cantonment is 1532 acres. The project will be completed by the Ministry of Defence by June 2021.
