    Thomas von Westen Norwegian missionary

    Thomas von Westen was a Norwegian Lutheran priest and missionary. He was a driving force in the Sami mission, and founded the education institution Seminarium Scholasticum, the later Seminarium Lapponicum, in Trondheim.

    Jørn Sandnes was a Norwegian historian. He was born in Snåsa in Nord-Trøndelag. He was appointed Professor in Trondheim from 1975 to 1992, From 1984 he served as the first rector at the University of Trondheim. Among his works is Norsk Stadnamnleksikon from 1976, and Avfolking og union, volume four of Cappelens Norgeshistorie from 1977. He was the principal editor of the six volumes of Trondheims historie from 1997.

    1681 Trondheim fire

    The 1681 Trondheim fire started on 18 April 1681, in a building near Nidelva. Large parts of the centre of Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. were destroyed, including the quay houses and Vår Frue Church. Timber merchant Thomas Hammond perished during the fire.

    Erling Gjone was a Norwegian architectural historian and antiquarian. Gjone made significant contributions to the preservation of medieval-era Norwegian buildings. He is most noted for his work with the restoration of the Archbishop's Palace (Erkebispegården) in Trondheim.

    Søilen Teater was a theatre that opened in Oslo in 1930. It was managed by Sophus Dahl until 1932. It was then a supporting stage for Chat Noir until 1934. From 1934 to 1939 the theatre was run by Henry Gleditsch, and from 1939 it was run by Aud Ricther. From 1942 it housed Leif Juster's stage Edderkoppen Theatre, and in 1945 it housed Studioteatret.

    Tone Thiis Schjetne Norwegian sculptor

    Tone Thiis Schjetne was a Norwegian sculptor. She is represented in the National Gallery of Norway and other galleries, contributed several works to the Nidaros Cathedral, and made decorations to Vadsø Church. Among her best known public works is the bronze sculpture Go'dagen in Oslo, Trondheim and Stavanger.
