9th Reserve Division(Chinese :预备第9师) was formed in early 1956 in Lanzhou Military Region.

Lanzhou Military Region Former military region of China

The Lanzhou Military Region was one of seven military regions in the People's Republic of China. It directed all military and armed police forces in Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, and Shaanxi. The Ali area of northwest Tibet also falls under this Region. It is headquartered in Lanzhou in Gansu Province. It is bordered to the south by the Chengdu Military Region, and to the north by Mongolia, the Altai Republic, which is a political subdivision of the Russian Federation, and Kazakhstan. This region is now part of the Western Theater Command due to the military reforms of 2015.

Zhangye, formerly romanised as Changyeh or known as Kanchow, is a prefecture-level city in central Gansu Province in the People's Republic of China. It borders Inner Mongolia on the north and Qinghai on the south. Its central district is Ganzhou, formerly a city of the Western Xia and one of the most important outposts of western China.

Gansu is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the northwest of the country.

The division was fully manned and equipped. During its short-lived existence the division was focused on the training of officers and sergeants.

In March 1957 the division was disbanded.

108th Training Command (Initial Entry Training)

The 108th Training Command is a United States Army Reserve unit headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. At its activation, the unit was designated as the 108th Airborne Division, but in 1952 was redesignated the 108th Infantry Division. In 1956, the division was again reorganized, this time to the designation as the 108th Division. Under the U.S. Army Reserve Transformation of 2005, the 108th was reorganized to is current structure as the 108th Training Command. The command is currently one of the largest in the Army Reserve, commanding and coordinating 9,000 soldiers.

The 12th Tank Division was formed on October 12, 1969 from 12th Independent Tank Regiment, 264th Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of Academy of Armored Troops and 2nd Tank School Training Regiment. After its formation the division was soon moved to Jiuquan and Jiayuguan City in Gansu province.

32nd Garrison Division was formed in October 1969 from 1st Engineer District, Engineer Troops of Lanzhou Military Region.

The 62nd Division was created in February 1949 under the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army, issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948, basing on the 5th Division, 2nd Column of the Huadong Field Army. Its history could be traced to the 5th Brigade, 4th Column of Eighth Route Army formed in July 1947.

2nd Cavalry Division(Chinese: 骑兵第2师)(3rd formation) was formed in October 1962 from 4th and 5th Cavalry Regiment from 1st Cavalry Division, and 6th and 7th Independent Cavalry Regiment of Lanzhou Military Region.

1st Reserve Division(Chinese: 预备第1师) was formed in August 1955 in Chengdu Military Region. On February 15 1956, the division moved to Jiajiang, Sichuan.

2nd Reserve Division(Chinese: 预备第2师) was formed in August 1955 in Chengdu Military Region. On February 15 1956, the division moved to Chongqing, Sichuan.

The 11th Division was created in February 1949 under the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army, issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948, basing on the 3rd Security Brigade, 4th Column of the PLA Northwest Field Army. Its composition can be traced to 84th Division of 27th Corps, Military Division of Shaanxi-Gansu, 29th Corps, Independent Division of Shanganning, 2nd Regiment of Shanganning, 1st Independent Division of Northern Shaanxi and Headquarters, 4th Corps, all parts of Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.
