History
AFC Newbury were formed in 1996 to replace the now defunct Newbury Town and bring senior football back to Faraday Road.
The new club was formed from the resources of three local clubs – Ecchinswell (founded 1906), Shaw Boys & Belles Juniors (established in 1972) and Wickham U17 Youth Team.
Prior to this, Ecchinswell had a long history playing in the North Hants League and Basingstoke League. In 1991 they were elected to the reformed Division 3 of the Hampshire League and after a slow start their fortunes dramatically took off when they won the Division 2 and Division 1 titles in 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons. However they were unable to progress further due to the lack of facilities at their ground so upon formation of AFC Newbury they became the new club's First Team.
AFC Newbury quickly achieved promotion after finishing runners-up in 1996/97 and winning the League Cup – defeating run-away league champions Moneyfields 2–0 in the final.
Upon joining the Wessex League they soon became a strong force, twice finishing third and regularly found towards the top of the table in what was a tough league. After finishing third in 1998/99 the club applied for promotion to the Southern League but were unsuccessful.
The club continued to thrive with a Reserve team competing in the Combination of the Wessex League, winning the Combination Cup in 2002/03. The U18's Youth Team played in the Allied Counties Youth League with the extensive range of junior boys and girls teams played in the Peter Houseman League, the South Chiltern Minor League, the Bracknell League and the Vale & District League.
AFC Newbury also enjoyed numerous cup runs in the national competitions, especially in the 2004/05 season. Firstly they reached the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup (equaling the record set by the original club) where, after famously beating Conference South neighbours Basingstoke Town they lost 0–2 away to another Conference South side Bognor Regis Town. Later that same season the club reached the Quarter Finals of the FA Vase (again equalling the record set by the original club) but here they went down 1–2 away to Bedlington Terriers.
The bubble seemed to burst in 2006 when after the loss of their main financial backer the club lost many key personnel, and like their predecessors Newbury Town endured numerous problems with their home ground.
After a tough season in 2005/06 which saw relegation narrowly avoided after a goals from Andrew Storton and Guy Whittingham in a 2-1 win on the final day. disaster struck the club when they lost the lease on the Faraday Road ground and as a result were demoted to the Wessex League's bottom division. Now playing at St. Bartholomew's School, the penniless club struggled to attract good quality players and after a slow start they withdrew from the competition in October 2006.
The actual club itself did not fold however, as their numerous youth sides continued to operate in their respective competitions.
The Wessex Football League is an English association football league formed in 1986, with its premier division currently at the fifth step of the National League System, or the ninth tier of the overall English football league system. The participating clubs are mainly based in Hampshire and Dorset but the league also encompasses clubs from adjoining counties such as Wiltshire, Berkshire, and the Isle of Wight. Under the terms of a sponsorship contract, the league is officially known as the Sydenhams League.

Newbury Town F.C. is a now-defunct football club based in Newbury, England. During their long history, they twice won the Hellenic League and in 1994 they won Division 2 of the Isthmian League and reached the Quarter-Finals of the national FA Vase, but within a year had ceased to exist. Since then there have been two successor clubs playing at the same venue.
The Hampshire League was a football league in Hampshire, England. During its heyday its constitution consisted of four divisions with over 60 clubs taking part - this included a vast number of semi-professional teams and Reserve/’A’ sides of the areas professional clubs with many famous players playing in its matches over the years, often in front of large crowds.
Andover Football Club was an association football club based in Andover, Hampshire, established in 1883. Since the 2007–08 season, Andover had been a member of the Southern League Division One South and West at Step 4 of the National League System. The club played at this level for 29 of its 128 years of existence, and played its thousandth game in this league in 2008. Compared with earlier periods, the ten years from 1998 to 2008 were relatively successful for Andover, seeing them win a number of league and cup honours as well as registering their biggest ever win.
Sholing Football Club is an English football club based in Sholing, Southampton, Hampshire. Formerly known as Vosper Thorneycroft FC and later VTFC the club changed its name in 2010 to Sholing FC. In 2013–14 they won both the FA Vase and the Wessex League Premier Division and have three times been runners up in the Wessex Premier, in 2007, 2009 and 2016. They are currently members of the Southern League Division One South. The club has twice won the Hampshire League, in 2001 and 2004. Sholing are also 8 times Southampton Senior Cup Winners.

The Humbugs were founded in 1884 as Hayling Island, but changed their name in the early seventies to the present name.

The club is affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association and is an FA chartered Standard club Formed in 1886, Romsey have always been around the 9th and 10th tiers of English Football but have once in their history reached the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup in the 1990–91 season. They were among the founding members of the Wessex League in 1986. The club plays at the AEC Protection Ground which they moved to in 1956.
A.F.C. Aldermaston is a football club based in Aldermaston, Berkshire, England. Affiliated to the Berks & Bucks Football Association, the club are currently members of the Combined Counties League Division One and play at Waterside Park in Thatcham.
Tadley Calleva Football Club are a football club based in Tadley, Hampshire, England. The club is affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association. The club's name of Calleva comes from the nearby Roman Town of Calleva Atrebatum, based just outside Silchester. They play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division North.
Portals Athletic were a works football team based between the north Hampshire towns of Overton and Whitchurch. The club ran for 60 years until the loss of the sudden loss of their financial backing in 1987.
