Anthony Bertolacci (1776-1833) was the 6th Civil Auditor General of British Ceylon.

British Ceylon former British Crown colony

Ceylon was a British Crown colony between 1815 and 1948. Initially the area it covered did not include the Kingdom of Kandy, which was a protectorate from 1815, but from 1817 to 1948 the British possessions included the whole island of Ceylon, now the nation of Sri Lanka.

A Corsican, he left Corsica with his British employers when they evacuated the island in 1796 after a short military occupation. Around 1799 he followed his patron, the Hon. Frederick North, to Ceylon as his secretary, but soon became firstly Postmaster-General and later Comptroller-General of Customs. [1]

Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford, styled The Honourable Frederick North until 1817, was a British politician and colonial administrator.

He became acting Civil Auditor General on 30 January 1811, succeeding Richard Plasket, and held the office until 1 September 1814, when he was succeeded by John D'Oyly. [2]

Sir Richard Plasket or Plaskett, (1782–1847) was the 5th Civil Auditor General for Ceylon. He was appointed on 14 June 1809, succeeding Samuel Tolfrey, and held the office until 30 January 1811, when he was succeeded by Anthony Bertolacci.
