AEK Ammochostos was a Cypriot football club based in Famagusta. Founded in 1956, was playing sometimes in Second and in Third Division.
After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus and occupation of the city of Famagusta in 1974, the team was displaced to the southern part of the island, in Larnaca. The team dissolved in 1980 due to financial problems.

It began on 1 May 1971 with the first round and concluded on 6 June 1971 with the replay final which was held at GSE Stadium. Anorthosis Famagusta won their 5th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Omonia 1–0 in the replay final.
The 2018–19 Cypriot Cup was the 77th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 24 clubs were accepted to enter the competition. It began on 5 December 2018 with the first round and concluded on 22 May 2019 with the final held at GSP Stadium. The winner of the Cup was AEL Limassol for seventh time and qualified for the 2019–20 Europa League second qualifying round.
