The AMT AutoMag II is a semiautomatic handgun chambered in .22 WMR, that was manufactured by Arcadia Machine and Tool from 1987 until 1999, [2] and was manufactured by High Standard until their closure in 2018. [3]
There were a number of engineering challenges to overcome in designing an autoloading .22 WMR handgun such as extraction problems. The extraction problems stem from the fact that the slow burning rifle powder of the .22 WMR cartridge develops a late peak pressure. This can cause the case mouth to expand and jam in the chamber when fired from a handgun. AMT overcame this issue by drilling 18 holes at 90 degrees to the chamber. A sleeve was then welded over the chamber; providing a tiny amount of clearance for the excess gas to escape from the first set of holes on back to the second set, thereby relieving the pressure enough to prevent the case from sticking. The stainless steel slide has a large cutout over the barrel, similar to the Beretta M9, to facilitate better cooling and ejection of the spent brass casing (more likely it is simply to reduce the moving mass of the slide to allow for the blow-back operation). The stainless steel construction throughout makes rust a non-issue.

A moon clip is a ring-shaped or star-shaped piece of metal designed to hold multiple cartridges together as a unit, for simultaneous insertion and extraction from a revolver cylinder. Moon clips may either hold an entire cylinder's worth of cartridges together, half a cylinder, or just two neighboring cartridges. The AMT Automag III is a single action semi-automatic pistol made by Arcadia Machine and Tool (AMT). It was created by Harry Sanford, inventor of the original .44 AutoMag pistol. The Automag III was principally chambered for the .30 Carbine cartridge, which was originally designed for the World War II-era M1 Carbine. It was also one of the few pistols available in the 9mm Winchester Magnum cartridge, but only the original AMT production pistols were made in this chambering, however; later Galena production was limited to .30 Carbine models. The Smith & Wesson Model 457 is a compact semi-automatic pistol from Smith & Wesson's Third Generation series of alloy and steel-framed handguns in company's Value Line of budget-priced auto pistols. The 457 is a compact pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. The design utilizes a double-action/single action trigger mechanism, meaning that the first shot is fired with long double-action pull, with following shots fired in single-action. The 457's external hammer omits a thumb spur, thereby reducing the risk of being caught on clothing during unholstering. A slide-mounted safety lever that drops the hammer from its cocked position when moved to the 'safe' position. The 457 has a 95 mm (3.75 in) barrel and 7-round magazine capacity. The Model 457 was produced with a matte-finish carbon steel slide and blackened aluminum alloy frame. Other versions include the Model 457S with a stainless steel slide and aluminum frame, and the Model 457TDA with a satin-finished aluminum frame and black carbon steel slide.

The 1931 Fabrique Nationale (FN) Baby Browning is a small blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol designed by Belgium-born Dieudonné Saive chambered in .25 ACP. The pistol features a six-round magazine capacity and is a striker-fired, single action, blowback mechanism. The manual thumb operated safety locks the slide in the closed position when engaged using side thumb pressure.
