The mass media in Ethiopia consist of radio, television and the Internet, which remain under the control of the Ethiopian government, as well as private newspapers and magazines. Ten radio broadcast stations, eight AM and two shortwave, are licensed to operate in Ethiopia. The major radio broadcasting stations include Radio Fana a private station, Radio Voice of One Free Ethiopia, and the Voice of the Revolution of Tigray. The only terrestrial (broadcast) television networks are government owned and include EBC and other regional stations. In keeping with government policy, radio broadcasts occur in a variety of languages including Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Tigrigna, and more. There are also many video sharing websites which are a popular way of getting information as well as entertainment in Ethiopia.
The Port of Djibouti is a port in Djibouti, the capital of Djibouti. It is strategically located at the crossroads of one of the busiest shipping routes in the world, linking Europe, the Far East, the Horn of Africa and the Persian Gulf. The port serves as a key refueling and transshipment center, and is the principal maritime outlet for imports to and exports from neighboring Ethiopia. An estimated 2,500 ships pass through and call through the port every day.
Elizabeth Habte Wold is an Ethiopian artist known for her mixed-media work. She completed degrees in fine arts at the School of Fine Arts in Addis Ababa and Baltimore City Community College in Maryland, and an MFA at Howard University. She became interested in digital media through a certificate program in interactive multimedia and web design at George Washington University. She has worked since the mid-1990s as a multimedia designer, and lives in Addis Ababa.
The Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC), now rebranded as ETV, is an Ethiopian government-owned public service broadcaster. It is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and is the country's oldest and largest broadcaster.
Finote Selam is a town and separate woreda in western Ethiopia. Located in the Mirab Gojjam Zone of the Amhara Region, by road 387 km from Addis Ababa and 176 km from Bahir Dar. By air, the distance from Addis Ababa is 246 km. Finote Selam, the "Pacific Road", is the name given by Emperor Haile Silassie during the Italian invasion on Ethiopia. Formerly its name was Wojet. Now Finote Selam is the capital city of West Gojjam Zone. This town has a longitude and latitude of 10°42′N37°16′E with an elevation of 1917 meters above sea level.
Tsehai Loves Learning is an Ethiopian children's television series produced by Whiz Kids Workshop which is owned by husband-and-wife Bruktawit Tigabu and Shane Etzenhouser. It premiered on 17 September 2006. The show's characters are a giraffe puppet and similar animated characters speaking the local language of Amharic, with translations into seven languages. It reaches an estimated 2,800,000 to 5,000,000 children. It was introduced to the US and Europe by the Dawn Breakers International Film Festival in 2008.

Tsadkan Gebretensae is an Ethiopian former military officer. He is a Lieutenant general and member of the central command of the Tigray Defense Forces. In 1976 Tsadkan joined Tigray People's Liberation Front, becoming one of its main commanders in the Ethiopian Civil War. Following the war, he became chief of staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Force, rebuilding the force and leading it in the Eritrean-Ethiopian War. After the start of the Tigray War in 2020, he rejoined the Tigray's military leadership. Tsadkan is widely regarded as one of Africa's best military thinkers and strategists.
In January 2018, French newspaper Le Monde Afrique published a story detailing how the headquarters of the African Union were being spied on by the Chinese government. The surveillance was believed to have begun in 2012, when the headquarters of the African Union were opened, and was conducted via bugging equipment and digital backdoors installed in the building's electronics during construction.
On 26 November 2021, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) and its allies had begun an offensive to recapture territory in the Amhara and Afar regions being occupied by the Tigray Defense Forces (TDF). Afar and Amhara militias had mobilized thousands of fighters and joined the new offensive. The ENDF and its allies were able to push TDF forces back from Debre Sina, Amhara to Alamata, Tigray (≈400 km). The Ethiopian government announced the campaign for national unity was a success and had been completed on 23 December 2021.
