The Pakistan Sports Board was created in 1962 by the Ministry of Education as a corporate body for the purposes of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition in sports in Pakistan comparable to the standards prevailing internationally, and regulating and controlling sports in Pakistan on a national basis. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, now has control over the Pakistan Sports Board. The PSB controls all 39 sporting federations. The Pakistan Sports Board is supported by the Pakistan Sports Trust, which assists hard up players and associations so they can continue participating in sports.

The Pakistan Open is a golf tournament organised by the Pakistan Golf Federation that was first played in 1967. In 1989, it was an included on the Asia Golf Circuit, and in 2006, 2007, and 2018 was part of the Asian Tour. It is set to return to the Tour in 2022.

In 2001, the club was sold by Pakistan Railways to the current management and renamed as the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club. It is a national and international sports venue. 2013 Asian Youth Games

The 2013 Asian Youth Games or AYG 2013, officially the 2nd Asian Youth Games and commonly as Nanjing 2013, were held in Nanjing, China from August 16–24, 2013. Just like the inaugural edition, the games served as a dress-rehearsal for the upcoming 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, which was also held in the same city.
