Aanaa Naamua Enin is a Ghanaian politician and diplomat. She was a member of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) military government of Ghana. She has also served as Ghana's ambassador to the Netherlands.
Aanaa Enin was made a member of the military PNDC government in 1983. [1] The PNDC was formed following the overthrow of the Limann government in December 1981 by a military coup d'état led by Jerry Rawlings who became the Head of state of Ghana. She served in this capacity until 1989. [2] In 2019,she was appointed to the Complaints Committee of the NDC. [3]
Enin served as Ghana's ambassador to the Netherlands during the rule of John Evans Atta Mills of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2010 to about 2012. [4]
The foreign relations of Ghana are controlled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana. Ghana is active in the United Nations and many of its specialised agencies,the World Trade Organization,the Non-Aligned Movement,the Organisation of African Unity (OAU),the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States. Generally,it follows the consensus of the Non-aligned Movement and the OAU on economic and political issues not directly affecting its own interests. Ghana has been extremely active in international peacekeeping activities under UN auspices in Lebanon,Afghanistan,Rwanda,and the Balkans,in addition to an eight-year sub-regional initiative with its ECOWAS partners to develop and then enforce a cease-fire in Liberia. Ghana is also a member of the International Criminal Court.
The Republic of Ghana is named after the medieval West African Ghana Empire. The empire became known in Europe and Arabia as the Ghana Empire after the title of its Emperor,the Ghana. The empire appears to have broken up following the 1076 conquest by the Almoravid General Abu-Bakr Ibn-Umar. A reduced kingdom continued to exist after Almoravid rule ended,and the kingdom was later incorporated into subsequent Sahelian empires,such as the Mali Empire several centuries later. Geographically,the ancient Ghana Empire was approximately 500 miles (800 km) north and west of the modern state of Ghana,and controlled territories in the area of the Sénégal River and east towards the Niger rivers,in modern Senegal,Mauritania and Mali.
Jerry John Rawlings was a Ghanaian military officer and politician who led the country for a brief period in 1979,and then from 1981 to 2001. He led a military junta until 1992,and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana,founded by Jerry Rawlings,who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC),which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981,there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992,in which Rawlings was elected president,and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001.
Kwamena Ahwoi is a Ghanaian academic and politician,who served as Minister for Local Government and Rural Development from 1990 to 2001 in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government,during the reign of Jerry Rawlings. He also briefly served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1997,and was acting minister in that department during much of the 1990s.

On 7 January 2021 Bagbin was elected Speaker of 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
The Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) was the name of the Ghanaian government after the People's National Party's elected government was overthrown by Jerry Rawlings,the former head of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council,in a coup d'état on 31 December 1981. He remained in power until 7 January 1993. In a statement,Rawlings said that a "holy war" was necessary due to the PNP's failure to provide effective leadership and the collapse of the national economy and state services.
