Aaron Bohl (born January 1, 1994) is an American college football coach. He is the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the University of Wyoming, positions he has held since 2024.

Playing career

Bohl played high school football at Lincoln East. Coming out of high school, Bohl decided to commit to play college football at Minnesota State University Moorhead. [1] Bohl played four seasons as a linebacker for Minnesota State–Moorhead, where he was a three-year team captain, and was a Second-Team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) his senior season. [2]

Coaching career

In 2017, Bohl got his first coaching job as a graduate assistant for Wyoming. [3] In 2019, Bohl was promoted to coach the Cowboy's linebackers. [4] After the 2023 season, Bohl was once again promoted by the Cowboys this time to serve as the team's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. [5]

Personal life

Bohl is the son of former Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl. [6] [7]

Before being hired in Laramie, he was the head coach at North Dakota State University in Fargo from 2003 to 2013, where he led the Bison to three consecutive NCAA Division I Football Championships in his final three seasons.

Bradley later served as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013 to 2016. Mike Van Diest is an American college football coach. He was the head football coach at Carroll College in Helena, Montana from 1999 to 2018, compiling a record of 203–54. Scott Gregory Hazelton is an American football coach who is currently a special assistant to the head coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He was previously the defensive coordinator at Michigan State University. Hazelton was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Kansas State University in 2019 before moving to Michigan State. He was also the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Wyoming in 2017 and 2018 where he led nationally ranked defenses in both seasons, linebackers coach at USC in 2012 and the defensive coordinator of the 2011 FCS National Champions, North Dakota State Bison. Hazelton was tutored as a defensive coach under the guidance of then North Dakota State head coach and current Buffalo Bills assistant Bob Babich and Gus Bradley who is a former head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, former Bison assistant coach, and is currently the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 2016 Wyoming Cowboys football team represented the University of Wyoming during the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cowboys were coached by third year head coach Craig Bohl and played their home games at War Memorial Stadium. They participated in the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 8–6, 6–2 in Mountain West play to finish in a three-way tie for the Mountain Division championship. After tiebreakers, they represented the Mountain Division in, and hosted, the Mountain West Championship Game where they lost to San Diego State. They were invited to the Poinsettia Bowl where they lost to BYU.

The 2017 Wyoming Cowboys football team represented the University of Wyoming during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cowboys were coached by fourth-year head coach Craig Bohl and played their home games at War Memorial Stadium. They participated in the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference. This was their first year with new defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton, who was previously an NFL linebackers coach with Jacksonville Jaguars for three seasons and was also Bohl's defensive coordinator for two seasons at North Dakota State. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in Mountain West play to finish in a tie for second place in the Mountain Division. They were invited to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl where they defeated Central Michigan.

Thomas K. Burman is an American athletics administrator who is the current director of athletics for the University of Wyoming. He previously served as athletic director for Portland State University, and as associate athletic director for the University of Wyoming. Burman is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and Robert Morris University.

The 1971 Wyoming Cowboys football team represented the University of Wyoming as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 1971 NCAA University Division football season. Led by first-year head coach Fritz Shurmur, the Cowboys compiled a record of 5–6, placing in a three-way tie for third in the WAC. The team played home games on campus at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyoming.
