Aaron Graves (born July 14, 2003) is an American college football defensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Early life

Graves attended Southeast Valley High School, where he was a four sport athlete playing football, basketball, track and field, and wrestling. [1] [2] In Graves freshman season, he tallied 67 tackles with 15 being for a loss, and ten sacks. [3] During Graves senior season he totaled 18.5 tackles for loss, and eight and a half sacks. [4] For his performance athletically, in his senior season Graves was named the MaxPreps Male National Athlete of the Year. [5] [6] Graves decided to commit to play college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes. [7] [8]

College career

Graves made his collegiate debut in week two of the 2022 season versus Iowa State. [9] Graves finished his freshman season in 2022 notching 15 tackles with six being for a loss, and three sacks. [10] During the 2023 season, Graves 37 tackles with four and a half going for a loss, two and a half sacks, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble. [11]

Following his playing career, Ferentz began a coaching tenure. Ferentz coached in the NFL for the New England Patriots from 2008 to 2011. Serving as the tight ends coach for the Patriots in 2011, Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski set NFL records for receptions, yards, and touchdowns by tight ends, and Gronkowski became the first tight end in NFL history to lead the league in touchdown receptions. Ferentz then began a coaching tenure at Iowa in 2012.
