During this period, many large American entertainment companies reformed and reinvigorated their animation departments following a general decline during the 1960s to 1980s. The United States has had a profound effect on animation worldwide. Since the 2000s traditional animation would lose interest against digital and Flash animation, naming this current period as the "millennium age of American animation".
JibJab is a digital entertainment studio based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1999 by brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis, it first achieved widespread attention during the 2004 US presidential election when their video of George Bush and John Kerry singing This Land Is Your Land became a viral hit. Initially known for political and social satire, JibJab produced commercials and shorts for clients such as Sony, Noggin, and Disney before focusing on its now-flagship personalized eCard and messaging services. In 2016, its animated sticker-making program - which has been available since 2004 - became the top iMessage App Store app by download growth.

The term Adobe Flash animation refers to both the file format and the medium in which the animation is produced. Adobe Flash animation has enjoyed mainstream popularity since the mid-2000s, with many Adobe Flash-animated television series, television commercials, and award-winning online shorts being produced since then.
The Buzz on Maggie is an American-Canadian animated television series created by Dave Polsky for Disney Channel. The series centers on an ambitious and expressive tween fly named Maggie Pesky and her family and friends. The show is set in Stickyfeet, a city for insects located in a junkyard. While conceptualizing the series, Polsky wanted it to contain a playful aspect at adolescence and director Dave Wasson formed the overall look of the characters, being heavily influenced by early Walt Disney cartoon shorts. The Buzz on Maggie was Disney's first series to be fully animated in Adobe Flash, a process done by Bardel Entertainment and Future Thought Productions.
David Wasson is an American television producer, director, screenwriter, animator, storyboard artist, and art director. He graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a B.F.A. He is best known for creating Time Squad, developing Star vs. the Forces of Evil on which he is also a director, writer and executive producer, and directing and writing on the series Mickey Mouse Shorts. He was the supervising director of Making Fiends and was the executive producer and director of the series The Buzz on Maggie. Also, he is the author/illustrator of the children's book "The Big Ideas of Buster Bickles".
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is an American interactive computer-animated children's television series which aired from May 5, 2006, to November 6, 2016. The series is Disney Television Animation's first computer-animated series aimed at preschoolers. The series was created by Disney veteran Bobs Gannaway, who is also responsible for other preschool shows, such as Jake and the Never Land Pirates and for Disneytoon Studios films including Secret of the Wings, The Pirate Fairy, and Planes: Fire & Rescue. 125 episodes were produced.

Daniel Kingsley Povenmire is an American animator, voice actor, director, writer, producer, and storyboard artist associated with several animated television series. Povenmire is the co-creator of the Disney animated series Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law, in which he also voiced the character Heinz Doofenshmirtz in both series. Povenmire grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where he was an art student, and where he spent summers outdoors and making movies. Povenmire attended the University of South Alabama before deciding to pursue a film career and transferring to the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.
WordGirl is an American children’s flash-animated superhero television series produced by the Soup2Nuts animation unit of Scholastic Entertainment for PBS Kids. The show began as a series of shorts entitled The Amazing Colossal Adventures of WordGirl that premiered on PBS Kids Go! on November 10, 2006, usually shown at the end of Maya & Miguel; the segment was then spun off into a new thirty-minute episodic series that premiered on September 3, 2007 on most PBS member stations. All four full-episode seasons each have twenty-six episodes, while the preceding series of shorts had thirty.

The Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production is an Annie Award, awarded annually to the best animated television show. In 1998, the award was split into two categories, Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Daytime Television Program and Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Primetime or Late Night Television Program, but was eventually combined into one category again. In 2008, the award received an offshoot category, the Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production for Children. This category will be listed here until it becomes a permanent establishment.

In business for ten years, some of their most notable productions have included Tom Hanks' Electric City, Fox's Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, MTV's Good Vibes, Nick Jr.'s Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, Nickelodeon's El Tigre, the animated feature The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!, and the web series Dick Figures for the YouTube channel Mondo Media. 6PH also released Dick Figures: The Movie, an in-house production developed from the company's web series.
Mickey Mouse is an American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation. Featuring Disney cartoon characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto in contemporary settings such as Paris, Venice, Tokyo and New York, the series has the slapstick feel of the earliest Mickey Mouse shorts while providing a modern update, and "presents Mickey in a broad range of humorous situations that showcase his pluck and rascality, along with his long-beloved charm and good heartedness". Sherry Gunther is an American producer known for her work in animation. While at Klasky Csupo, Gunther worked on the television series Duckman, Rugrats, and early seasons of The Simpsons, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1991. She was made senior vice president of production at Hanna-Barbera Cartoons in 1995. Under Hanna-Barbera President Fred Seibert she oversaw production of Turner Entertainment programs such as Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, and the World Premiere Toons. Sherry then went on to Produce Family Guy and to found Twentieth Television's first in-house Prime-Time animation studio, and produced countless Prime-Time pilots for Imagine Television, Touchstone Television, Twentieth Television, Fox, and Carsey Warner. She also produced theatrical shorts of Looney Tunes for Warner Bros. Sherry has received four additional Primetime Emmy nominations, Festival Awards, and a Humanitas Award. a Daytime Emmy Award, two CableACE Award nominations, and a Humanitas Prize.
StoryBots is an American children's educational media franchise best known for the Netflix series Ask the StoryBots. The StoryBots library includes educational TV series, books, videos, music, games and classroom activities designed to make foundational learning fun and encourage intellectual curiosity in children ages 3-to-8. Subjects cover a wide range of themes and feature a cast of characters called the StoryBots, who are tiny, colorful robotic creatures who have eyes on top of their head, eyebrows, rectangular bodies, have expressional semi-circles for heads that move with every syllable, long lines for limbs, circles for feet and have pincer-like appendages for hands that are either depicted as magnet shaped, half a square with a hole going out to make two fingers, simple lines, crab pincers or 9 shaped that live within computers, tablets and phones and help humans answer questions.
Edward Daniel Skudder is an American animator, voice actor, director, writer, producer, singer-songwriter, musician, and composer. He is best known for his work on Mondo Media's Dick Figures along with Zack Keller, as well as being the voice of Red. He was also known for its feature film Dick Figures: The Movie, where he served as the writer, director, executive producer, and the voice of Red, Raccoon, Mr. Dingleberry, and Captain Crookygrin.
Jeff Gill is an American animator, director, and voice actor. He is best known for animating on the show South Park as well as his work with StoryBots in which he voices the character Bing. He directed the series StoryBots Super Songs and has won multiple Emmy awards for his work on Ask the StoryBots including Outstanding Directing in an Animated Program and Outstanding Writing for a Preschool Animated Program.
Adam Phillips, also known by his online alias Chluaid, is an Australian filmmaker, animator, and former freelancer. He is best known for his animation work, consisting of flash animation compositions published on his website, Bitey Castle, and on the flash portal Newgrounds. His animation work on the latter has over 16 million views, making him one of the most-viewed artists on the site. Phillips created the fantasy animation shorts series, Brackenwood, the first of which was posted on Newgrounds in March 2004. He was also a featured artist at the Adobe Design Center for the month of December 2006.
