James Aaron Williams (born 23 June 1942 [1] [2] ) is an English musician. He was the lead guitarist for The Merseybeats from 1962 to 1966. He joined the band in April 1962, replacing David Elias. [3] He is the brother-in-law to the groups lead singer, Tony Crane. [4] The band briefly played as a three piece in 1965, when Williams went missing during a tour on the Isle of Wight. [5] After he left the band in 1966, he lived in a Monastery on the south coast of England for a few weeks. [6] He now lives in the Wirral with his wife Brenda, where he runs his own business. [4] [6]
