Aasha Davis (born August 17, 1973) [1] is an American actress best known for her roles as Waverly Grady on Friday Night Lights and Chelsea Lewis on South of Nowhere.

Career

Davis is best known for playing the role of Waverly Grady on Friday Night Lights . [2] Davis was featured in Gnarls Barkley's music video in 2008 called "Who's Gonna Save My Soul". She has also appeared in Gilmore Girls , [2] Grey's Anatomy , [2] House , [2] ER , [2] Castle, and The Shield . [2]

In 2011, she played opposite Adepero Oduye in the film Pariah . [2]

In 2012, she guest-starred in the second season of the Jane Espenson-scripted romantic comedy web series Husbands . [3]

In 2013, Aasha is produced, starred in, and directed an episode of the web series featured on YouTube called The Unwritten Rules, [2] which is based on series creator Kim Williams's book 40 Hours and an Unwritten Rule: The Diary of an African-American Woman.

In 2019, Aasha starred as Bernadette in the rural Louisiana murder mystery The Long Shadow. [2]

Personal life

In 2002, Davis married Jesse Pforzheimer and they have one son, Ever, born in January, 2009. [1]

Davis's older sister, Lesley Herring, disappeared in Los Angeles on February 8, 2009, after a fight with her husband, Lyle Stanford Herring, Sr. [4] Davis reported her sister as missing when she failed to show up to work, her husband having neglected to do so. Lyle Herring was charged with his wife's murder and in April 2010 pleaded not guilty. [5] On April 8, 2013, he was convicted of the second-degree murder of his wife. To date, her body has not been found. [6] A 2011 episode of Nancy Grace and a June 7, 2013, episode of Dateline NBC [7] covered Davis's sister's case. [8]

Adam Joel Anhang Uster was an entrepreneur and real estate developer; he was murdered at the intersection of Calle San Justo and Calle Luna in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico in September 2005. Kathleen Dorsett is a former Neptune, New Jersey schoolteacher who was convicted of the August 2010 murder of her ex-husband, Stephen Moore, in May 2013. Her father, Thomas Dorsett, also pled guilty to the murder, and Dorsett's mother, Lesley Dorsett, a former member of the Ocean Township Board of Education, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in 2013.
