The film is a remake of director - producer duo's 1954 Kannada film Bedara Kannappa.

Udaji Chavan Himmat Bahadur

Udaji Chavan (1692-1762), was one of the main supporter and Senapati of Sambhaji II of Kolhapur. He had title of 'Himmat Bahadur'. At first he was partisan of Tarabai. Then afterwards he became the supporter of Samhaji of Kolhapur. He brought territory of Shirol, Raibag under his control. He made 'Battis Shirala' on the bank of Warna as his chief headquarters.

Yashwantrao Thorat Senakhaskhel

Yashwantrao Thorat also known as 'Thorle Yashwantrao' was a military commander and the main supporter of Sambhaji II of Kolhapur from 1717 to 1719. He had the title of 'Senakhaskhel'. He was 'Jahagirdar' (Baron) in the territory of Warana. Ashta was his chief headquarter on the bank of Krishna river. He brought the territory of Vijapur under his control and expand the province of Sambhaji II of Kolhapur until 1719. For his achievement Sambhaji II gave him Saranjam of Rs.9 lakh in Vijapur territory.
