Amit Kumar is an Indian playback singer, actor, music composer. Kumar launched his own music production company, named Kumar Brothers Music. He predominantly worked in Bollywood and regional film songs since the 1970s, including 150 Hindi and Bengali compositions by R. D. Burman. After Burman's death in 1994, citing a lack of quality music composition, Kumar withdrew from playback singing and concentrated on live orchestra shows. Hasratein (Desires) is an Indian television soap opera that was telecast on Zee TV in the mid 1990s. It is based on the Marathi novel "Adhantari" by Late Shri Jaywant Dalvi. Hasratein focuses around successes of extra marital relationships. One of the main story is of Savi, a woman who leaves her husband and maintains an extra-marital relationship with another married man, with both their spouses being aware of the situation. Her actions were due to the fact that years ago, during her childhood, her mother left her father for a young man. The show emphasizes the societal strain placed on marriages in Indian culture, especially roles given to the female spouse resulting in boredom felt by the male spouse. Hasratein was one of the most popular television shows of the mid and late 1990s. According to Shubhra Gupta, film and television critic, the popularity of the serial "had made it a catalyst for the discussion of issues of marital discord, in spite of the embarrassment the serial generated for many people."

Angaaray is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film produced by Madhu Ramesh Behl on Rose Movies Combines banner, directed by Mahesh Bhatt. Sambhav Asambhav was a Hindi language Indian television series that premiered on Sony TV on 1 May 2003, is based on a Gujarati novel Sambhav Asambhav written by Harkisan Mehta. The story is based on the lives of who get caught in the vortex of reincarnation. The series was directed by known television director Anant Mahadevan, and was shot at various locations in Mumbai including Film City and Madh Island. The show ended on 23 October 2003. It used to air every Thursday.
Amrapali was an Indian historical drama TV serial, directed by Ravi Kemmu in 2002. It was a big-budget story depicting the world of around 600 B.C. The serial was broadcast on the Doordarshan National Network every Sunday at 11am, starting on 30 June 2002.
