Abasolo is a Mexican city (and municipality) located in the Southwest region of the state of Guanajuato. The municipality has an area of 601.73 square kilometres (1.98% of the surface of the state), and is bordered to the north by Pueblo Nuevo and Valle de Santiago, to the south by the state of Michoacán and Huanímaro, and to the west by Pénjamo and Cuerámaro. The municipality had 79,093 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. [1] [2] The city was estimated to have 28,100 inhabitants in 2020. [3]
In pre-Columbian times the area was known as Cuitzeo or "Place of skunks (Lugar de Zorrillos)", [4] by the mostly Purépecha inhabitants.
Abasolo is named after José Mariano Abasolo, a Mexican patriot and leader of Mexico's war of independence against Spain.
The municipal president of Abasolo and its many smaller outlying communities is Juan Antonio Negrete Martínez. [5]

Ticul de Morales Municipality is a municipality in the Mexican state of Yucatán. It is located in the western part of the state at 100 km south of the state capital city of Mérida. The municipality, which has an area of 355.12 km2 (137.11 sq mi), in the 2005 census reported 25,621 inhabitants. The city of Ticul which is the municipal seat had a population of 21,147, the ninth-largest community in the state in population. The majority are ethnically Maya. Its largest other towns are Pustunich and Yotholín.
Tuxpan is both a municipality and city located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The population of the city was 89,557 and of the municipality was 154,600 inhabitants, according to the INEGI census of 2020, residing in a total area of 1,051.89 km2 (406.14 sq mi). San Luis de la Paz is a city, and the surrounding municipality of the same name, located in the northeastern part of the state of Guanajuato in Mexico. San Luis de la Paz was founded on August 25, 1552, as a defensive town on the Spanish Silver Road, which linked the Zacatecas mines with Mexico City during the Spanish domination. It owes its name to the peace treaty between Otomi Indians, who were Spaniard allies, and the native Chichimecas, on the day of Saint Louis of France, August 25. Villagrán is a Mexican city located in the state of Guanajuato. With an area of 125.4 square kilometres, Villagrán accounts for 0.41% of the surface of the state. Angamacutiro is a municipality in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Located in the far north portion of the state, its municipal seat is the city of Angamacutiro de la Unión. The name Angamacutiro originates from the Uapeani, Pauacume, and Tariácuri native indigenous languages, where it denotes "place on the edge of the canyon" or "lugar al borde de la barranca". This name highlights the region's proximity to a canyon's cliff edge, which is a reflection of its geographic features.
