Aguirre was chosen as the first overall pick of the 1981 NBA draft by the Dallas Mavericks after playing three years at DePaul University. Aguirre played in the NBA from 1981 until 1994 and won two championships with the Detroit Pistons after being traded to Detroit from Dallas in exchange for Adrian Dantley. Aguirre was a three-time All-Star for Dallas. Aguirre was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.

Abdiel Vazquez is a Mexican pianist who has won major awards for his playing both in Mexico City and in New York. Vazquez grew up just outside the city of Monterrey to a doctor and an engineer. He began studying the piano at age six, but his parents did not realize the extent of his talent until he won his first competition at the age of twelve. Vazquez did his professional studies at the Escuela Superior de Música y Dance de Monterrey, and after receiving a scholarship, went on to the Manhattan School of Music, then studied privately in Madrid. He currently lives in New York, working as a vocal coach with Metropolitan Opera House and Juilliard School. María de los Ángeles Pineda Villa is the former first lady of Iguala, a city in Guerrero, Mexico. In October 2014, the Attorney General of Mexico Jesús Murillo Karam accused her and her husband, José Luis Abarca Velázquez, of being the "probable masterminds" behind the September 2014 Iguala mass kidnapping and disappearance of 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers' College. Pineda Villa and her husband fled hours after the reported abductions and were arrested by federal authorities on November 4, 2014. In November 2014, the prosecution's investigation indicated that Mayor Abarca ordered local police to stop the students from protesting a political event and speech Pineda Villa was scheduled to hold. The police allegedly attacked the students' buses when they entered Iguala and then delivered them to members of the local drug gang, Guerreros Unidos. Along with her familial ties to the Sinaloa Cartel and Beltrán-Leyva Cartel, confessions by detained gang members and police officers have revealed Pineda Villa as the "principle operator" of the Guerreros Unidos.
