Abdikadir Omar Aden (born 21 October 1972) is a Kenyan politician a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya elected from Balambala Constituency, Garissa County on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement in 2013. He lost his reelection bid in 2017. [1] [2]

Education and career

Abdikadir Aden was born in 1972 in Balambala in Garissa County.he attended Balambala Primary School from 1982 to 1989 before proceeding to Lenana School where he studied from 1990 to 1993. He earned a bachelor's degree in international business administration majoring in marketing from United States International University in 1999 and obtained a master's degree in international business from South Bank University, London in 2002. [3] He started his career with Standard Chartered bank in September 2002 and became business development manager in 2003 before being promoted to the position of corporate sales manager in 2004 and served until 2006 when he transferred to British American Tobacco (BAT). He became BAT general manager in 2008 and remained in the position until 2011 when he was appointed BAT general manager of Horn of Africa Markets and served until 2013 when left BAT. [3]

He joined politics in 2013 and was elected to the 11th Kenyan national assembly for Balambala Constituency on the ticket of ODM. He was the first MP for Balambala following its creation in the new constitution of Kenya. In the 11th parliament, he served on the Procedure and House Rules Committee. He lost his reelection bid in 2017 and failed to reclaim the seat in the 2022 parliamentary on the ticket of UDA. He was ODM organizing secretary and a member of Budget and Appropriation committee. Hassan Ali Joho is a Kenyan politician and the former Governor of Mombasa County affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He was also elected to represent the Kisauni Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya during the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. On 4 March 2013, during the general election, Joho was elected as the first governor of Mombasa County. In the 2017 General Elections held on 8 August, Joho retained his seat on an ODM ticket. Despite significant politically engineered setbacks, Joho emerged triumphant by winning with 220 576 votes against his closest rival Suleiman Shahbal with 69 322 votes, Suleiman was a member of the Jubilee Party. Joho served as governor of Mombasa until 2022, when he completed the constitunionally allowed two five-year terms. He was succeded by Abdulswammad Sherrif Nassir the former member of the National Assembly for Mvita Constituency.

Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed is a Kenyan politician. As a member of Safina, Mohamed was elected to represent the Mandera Central Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election, defeating the incumbent Billow Kerrow.

Ali Wario is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 9th and 11th Parliament of Kenya and was an assistant minister for Home Affairs from 2003 to 2006.

Andrew Mwadime is a Kenyan politician and current governor of Taita Taveta County. He was a member of Kenyan National assembly before being elected governor in August 2022 as an independent candidate following his resignation from Communist Party of Kenya.

Jones Mwagogo Mlolwa is a Kenyan politician and a member of the 11th parliament of Kenya from Voi Constituency, Taita Taveta County. He was elected on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement in 2013 defeating the incumbent MP Danson Mwazo Mwakulegwa. In the parliament, Mlolwa served on the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. He was one of the coastal politicians who proposed formation of a Coastal Political Party in 2014 to have a bargaining power with the national government for the benefit of the coastal people. Mlolwa was elected secretary of New Coast Parliamentary Group (CPG) in 2016. He lost his reelection in 2017 and was defeated again in the 2022 parliamentary election by Khamis Chome who polled 9,418 while Mlolwa scored 8,426.
